Okay, so I’ve been grinding away at Madden 24’s franchise mode, and let me tell you, figuring out who to draft is a whole ordeal in itself. I spent hours, maybe even days, just scouting players and trying to decide who would be the best fit for my team.
At first, I just went with my gut. I looked at the top-rated players and thought, “Yeah, these guys look good.” But that didn’t really work out too well. I ended up with some solid players, but they weren’t always what my team needed.

So, I started getting a little more strategic. I started by looking at my team’s weaknesses. Where were the holes? What positions did I really need to fill? For me, it was cornerback. I needed someone who could lock down the other team’s best receivers.
Then, I started diving into the draft class. I spent a ton of time scouting players, looking at their attributes, their strengths, and their weaknesses. I even started paying attention to the projected draft order to see who might actually be available when it was my turn to pick.
- Focusing on one position group, I found a few players at each position that I really liked.
- I made notes on where the AI usually drafted them and started planning based on that.
- This way, I felt like I had a better chance of getting someone who could really make a difference.
After a ton of research, I stumbled upon Tariq Woolen. 83 overall, 90 speed, and 6’4. This guy was a beast!
I also started paying more attention to the depth of each position in the draft. Like, if there were a bunch of good wide receivers, I knew I could probably wait until later rounds to snag one. But if there were only a few good cornerbacks, I knew I had to prioritize that position.
Trade
Trading is another big part of franchise mode. I learned that it’s not just about getting the best players, but also about finding players who fit your team’s needs and scheme. I made a few trades that I thought were pretty smart. I managed to trade for Desean Jackson, Tavon Austin, and Luke Willson. My offense was looking pretty stacked after that! And for DBs, I picked up Jabari Greer, Asante Samuel, and Chris Houston from free agency.
It took a lot of trial and error, but I finally started to get the hang of it. Drafting and trading in Madden 24 is definitely a challenge, but it’s also super rewarding when you build a team that you’re proud of and watch them dominate on the field.
So yeah, that’s been my journey so far. It’s been a grind, but I’m having a blast. And I think I’m finally starting to figure this whole drafting and trading thing out. It’s all about being patient, doing your research, and making smart decisions. Trust me, it’s worth it in the end when you see your team hoisting that Lombardi Trophy!
