So, I’ve been playing MLB The Show 24 quite a lot recently, and one thing I always like to do is keep the rosters updated. It’s not super complicated, but it took me a little while to figure out the best way to do it. I figured I’d share my process so you guys can keep your game up to date, too.
The first thing I do is usually every couple of weeks, ’cause that’s how often they seem to update the rosters. I boot up the game, and go straight to the main menu.

Once I’m in the main menu, I go into the “Create” section. Don’t really know why it’s called that, but that’s where you want to be.
Updating The Roster
Once I’m in the “Create” section, I look for “Data Utility”. After clicking “Data Utility”, I click the “Save Live Roster”, and it’ll give you two options, just go with the first one.
This is where it gets a little tricky. I click the “load” button and choose the roster I just saved. Then I can see all the recent changes. Sometimes, it’s pretty minor stuff, but other times, there are some big trades or call-ups that I wanna have in my game.
Changes In The Roster
For example, I noticed a few changes in the latest update:
- Blake Treinen is now CP for the Dodgers.
- Danny Coulombe is now CP for the Orioles.
- Matt McLain is now SS for the Reds.
- Liam Hendriks is now RP for the Red Sox.
- Tyler Wells is now SP for the Orioles.
- Craig Kimbrel is now CP for the Orioles.
- Yennier Cano is now RP for the Orioles.
- Jarren Duran is now RF for the Red Sox.
Stuff like that. Nothing too crazy, but it’s cool to see the game reflect what’s happening in real life.
Anyway, after I’ve loaded the roster, I make sure to save it again. Just to be safe, you know? Don’t want to lose all those updates. And that’s pretty much it. Now my rosters are good to go, and I can get back to playing with the most accurate teams possible. I also figured out how to leave a team. You just go into the team management section, pick the team you’re on, and hit the “leave” button. Easy as that.
It’s a pretty simple process once you do it a few times. Hopefully, this helps some of you guys out there keep your game updated. Just remember to do it every couple of weeks if you want the most up-to-date experience. Happy gaming, everyone!
