So, I decided to dive into this “Elden Ring” game everyone’s been talking about. My goal? To get my character all figured out.
First off, I spent a good chunk of time just messing around with the character creation. You can pick your name, body type, age, class, keepsake – the whole shebang. I went back and forth on the class, not really sure what I wanted to play.

- I started by playing around with different looks. Hair, eyes, muscles, you name it.
- After that, I dug into the classes. Each one’s got its own thing, you know?
- Then I learned that Golden Seed is important for every class. So I grabbed it.
I was told that you can only change affinity by applying ashes of war. So I tried to find the various Whetblades to get an affinity. After I got the Whetblades, I chose an affinity for my character.
I was thinking about just running around and exploring, fighting some weak enemies to get the hang of it. Then I heard some people say you should head north from the starting point to find your first big boss. Others said to go south for more exploration and an easier mini-boss. Sounded like a good plan to level up a bit before facing anything too crazy.
It took me longer than I thought it would, but I finally got a character that I felt pretty good about. Figuring out all the options and making choices that felt right for how I want to play, that took some time. But hey, now I’ve got a character ready to roll. Time to actually start playing the game, I guess!
