Alright, so I’ve been grinding it out in League of Legends lately, and I wanted to talk about the upcoming Split 2. You know, keep track of my journey and all that stuff.
So, first things first, I jumped online to check when this new split actually starts. Apparently, it kicks off on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024. It’s based on your server time, which is kind of important to remember.

This year is a bit different because it’s the first time Riot has done three ranked splits. Yeah, three! I found out that Split 2 will arrive with patch 14.10. That’s a pretty big deal since it means a bunch of changes are coming our way. I spent a good chunk of time going through the patch notes. Noted a few key changes to my main champs and mentally prepped for the grind.
- Start Date: May 15, 2024 (Wednesday) at 12 PM server time
- Patch: 14.10
- End Date: September 24, 2024, at 11:59:59 PM local server time
I also looked up when Split 2 ends, ’cause, you know, gotta plan ahead. It wraps up on September 24, 2024. For most of us, it’s at 11:59:59 PM local time. But, if you’re in the big leagues – Master, Grandmaster, or Challenger – you gotta wrap it up 15 minutes earlier, at 11:45 PM. Feels a bit tight for those high-rank players, doesn’t it?
And then there’s the reward. We’re getting the Victorious Sona skin for Split 2. I have been playing a lot of Sona lately, so that’s pretty sweet. I read that Season Two originally started way back on November 22, 2011. That’s a whole different era of League.
What I Did to Prepare
I made sure to practice some new strategies, especially with Sona, to get ready for the climb. Played a few normal games just to get the hang of the upcoming changes without tanking my rank, you know?
Anyway, that’s my prep for Split 2. I logged all these dates and details. Gotta stay on top of things if I wanna hit my rank goals. Let’s see how this split goes – wish me luck!
