Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this idea lately, and I thought I’d share my little experiment with you guys. It’s about spicing up my Apex Legends game by, well, not picking my own Legends. Sounds crazy, right? But hear me out.
I started this whole thing because I was getting bored, always picking the same old Legends. I mean, I love Octane, their speed is just too good, and healing up without having to scramble for meds? Yes, please! But it got to the point where I was just on autopilot, not really enjoying the game as much. So I thought, “Why not let the universe decide?”

First, I needed a way to pick a Legend randomly. I just used a random website, there are plenty of tools out there. You just put in all the Legends’ names, hit a button, and boom, your fate is sealed by the digital gods.
Here’s how a typical session went down:
- Fire up Apex Legends. You know, the usual drill.
- Head over to the wheel. Before hitting “Ready,” I’d switch over to my browser.
- Give it a spin. I’d let the random tool do its thing.
- Embrace the chaos. Whatever Legend it landed on, that’s who I was playing, no take-backsies.
The first few times were… rough, not gonna lie. I ended up with Legends I’d never even considered before. Like Catalyst, I barely see anyone playing them, and now I know why. Their abilities need some time to get used to, definitely not my style. But then, something weird happened. I started to actually have fun with it. Each game became this unpredictable adventure. I was learning new strategies on the fly, discovering abilities I never knew existed, and sometimes, even surprising myself with some pretty sweet plays.
It’s not about winning every game anymore (though let’s be honest, winning is still pretty great). It’s about the thrill of the unknown, the challenge of adapting, and the hilarious moments when you end up with a Legend that’s just so not you. I actually started to look forward to seeing who the wheel would pick for me. It’s like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.
So, if you’re feeling a bit stuck in a rut, or just want to add a little bit of randomness to your Apex life, give this a try. It’s a whole different way to experience the game, and who knows, you might just find your next main. I sure did. In the end, the tool landed on Octane, so I decided to keep playing as them.
What do you think? Are you going to try?
