Alright, so, I’ve been playing Valorant for a while now, and one thing that always caught my eye was those cool little gun buddies everyone has. I really wanted one myself, and I finally decided to get into it.
First off, I had to figure out what I really wanted. There are a lot of buddies out there, but I specifically wanted to try to get the Riot Gun Buddy. I did some digging and found out that Riot doesn’t really sell these in a bundle or in the battle pass, so I knew it might be a little more work than just buying one from the store.

So, I started looking into how to actually equip these things. I mean, I had seen people with them, but I never really paid attention to how they got them on their guns. Turns out, it’s pretty straightforward. You go into your collection, then to your weapons, and there’s a “Buddies” tab right there at the top. You can scroll through all the buddies you have and see which one looks best with your gun.
After that, it was time to actually try to get that Fist Bump Buddy. This thing is super rare, and I read somewhere that it’s one of the most coveted charms in the game. I heard that it’s not something you can just buy. Apparently, you need to get it in a special way.
I also found out that there used to be a way to get a gun buddy through Amazon Prime Gaming. But, it seems like Riot ended their collaboration with Amazon Prime by the end of 2023. So, that was a dead end. No easy shortcuts for me, I guess. I was pretty bummed about that because it would’ve been a simple way to get started.
The next step was to choose a buddy and equip it. I clicked on the “Equip Buddies” button after selecting one, just to test it out. It was pretty cool to see it on my gun, even though it wasn’t the Riot one yet.
Anyway, I’m still on the hunt for the Riot Gun Buddy. It’s going to be a bit of a grind, but I’m determined to get it. I’ll keep playing, keep an eye out for any special events or promotions, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll get lucky.
So yeah, that’s my story so far with trying to get a gun buddy in Valorant. It’s been a bit of a journey, but I’m not giving up. Wish me luck!
