Today I wanted to mess around with “Days Gone” on my PC, you know, just to see what kind of crazy stuff I could get into with some cheats. I’ve played it before, but this time I wanted to spice things up a bit. So, here’s what happened.
First things first, I had to figure out how to actually enable cheats in this game. Turns out, “Days Gone” doesn’t really have built-in cheats like some older games. You gotta use third-party trainers or mess with the game files. I wasn’t really feeling like digging through game files, so I went the trainer route.
I started hunting around online to see what my options were. I found some message boards and a couple of websites talking about “Days Gone” cheats. Some folks were talking about cheat codes, but it looked like those were more for the PS4 version. Then I found a few sites mentioning trainers. These are basically separate programs that run alongside the game and let you toggle cheats on and off.
- Search for Trainers: I ended up finding a few different trainers. Some were free, others you had to pay for. I went with a free one for now, just to see if it would work. I downloaded it, but I was also careful to scan it for viruses, just in case. I can’t remember which one but it’s really doesn’t matter. It’s easy to find one with google.
- Installation and Setup: The trainer I got was pretty straightforward to install. It was just an .exe file that I ran. Once it was open, I had to point it to where my “Days Gone” game was installed on my PC.
- Experimenting with Cheats: Once everything was set up, I launched the game and started playing. The trainer had a bunch of different options, like unlimited health, unlimited ammo, no reload, stuff like that. I started toggling them on one by one to see what they did.
I remember one time I turned on infinite stamina, unlimited focus and some weapons cheats and went on a wild ride through a horde of those freakers. It was nuts! I was mowing them down like it was nothing. Totally unrealistic, but hey, that’s the fun of cheats, right?
Another thing I tried was messing with the item crafting. I found a cheat that let me craft anything without needing the materials. So I made a ton of top-tier items right from the start. It kind of broke the game’s progression, but it was fun for a little while to just have the best gear without having to scavenge for everything.
What I Learned
Using cheats in “Days Gone” definitely changed the experience. It took away a lot of the challenge, but it also let me just have some brainless fun without worrying about dying every five minutes. But I’m not sure I’d recommend playing the whole game this way. Part of the fun of “Days Gone” is the struggle to survive. With cheats, that feeling is gone.
I guess cheats are cool for a bit of messing around, but for me, I think I prefer the regular game experience. But hey, to each their own! If you want to try it, just be careful with those trainers and make sure you trust the source you get them from. And remember, it might mess with your saves, so maybe back them up before you go wild.
I even thought that maybe it is not so fun to play with cheats. It is better to play in the original way. So that I can feel the meaning of the game.
