So, I really wanted to snag a Dragonite with Draco Meteor in Pokémon GO the other day. It’s like, one of the coolest moves, right? Here’s how I went about getting it done.
First, I checked if there were any special events going on. Sometimes, Niantic does these events where certain Pokémon get special moves. Turns out, there was no event this time, dang it! So I had to go the other route.
Then I remembered that you can also use TMs to get moves like Draco Meteor. I’m talking about those Elite Charged TMs. They’re pretty sweet because you can actually pick the move you want, even the exclusive ones. I had one of these bad boys saved up, luckily.
I went ahead and used my Elite Charged TM on my Dragonite. I could have evolved a Dratini or Dragonair to get a Dragonite with Draco Meteor, but I already had a high level Dragonite with great stats.
- Check for events: Always check if there’s an event going on first. It’s the easiest way to get those special moves.
- Get an Elite Charged TM: If there’s no event, these TMs are your best friend. You usually get them from the GO Battle League, maybe some special research tasks, or sometimes you can buy them in the shop.
- Use it on your Pokémon: Pick the Pokémon you want to teach the move to and use the TM. You’ll get a list of moves, just pick Draco Meteor.

I’m so happy I finally got it! Now my Dragonite is even more of a beast in battles. If you decide later that Draco Meteor isn’t your cup of tea, you can always just TM it to something else, like Outrage. I think I’ll keep mine for now, though.
