Okay, so I’ve been hyped about the new Forza Motorsport, right? But man, I hit a wall with some seriously annoying graphics problems. Let me walk you through what I did to (mostly) fix things.
The Problem: Blurry Mess
First boot up, everything looked…off. Like, super blurry, especially at a distance. The cars looked okay up close, but the tracks and backgrounds were a fuzzy mess. Not exactly the “next-gen” experience I was expecting. I messed with the in-game settings for a good hour, but nothing seemed to make a significant difference.

Tinkering Time: My Settings Journey
I started by just cycling through the preset graphics options – Low, Medium, High, Ultra. Ultra, obviously, was my first go-to. No dice. Still blurry. I then went down the list, hoping one of them would magically work. Nope.
So, I dove into the advanced settings. Here’s what I messed with, and what (I think) helped:
- Dynamic Render Quality: I tried turning this off completely, and then setting it to Ultra, High, etc. Didn’t seem to have a HUGE impact on the blurriness, surprisingly.
- Resolution Scale: This was a big one. I made sure it was at 100%. Anything lower and, yeah, blurry town.
- Anisotropic Filtering: Cranked this up to 16x. This helps with textures at angles, and it did seem to sharpen things up a little.
- Ray Tracing: Okay, this is where things got interesting. I have a pretty decent rig, so I wanted ray tracing ON. But, it seemed like the RT was contributing to some of the weirdness. I tried turning it off completely, and things did look sharper, but… less pretty. I experimented to find one that best suited my hardware.
- DLSS/FSR: I use an card that supports DLSS, also switched to FSR for comparison. I definitely played with the different DLSS modes (Quality, Balanced, Performance). “Quality” mode seemed to be the best balance between sharpness and performance.
The (Partial) Solution
After a LOT of trial and error, here’s what worked best for my setup :
- Resolution Scale: 100%
- Anisotropic Filtering: 16x
- DLSS: Quality
- Ray Tracing: Find one that suits your set up.
- Most other settings on Ultra or High
It’s still not perfect. I think there might be some underlying issues with the game’s rendering engine, or maybe it’s just my specific hardware combination. But, it’s MUCH better than it was at the start. It’s playable, and it looks pretty good most of the time.
Still Some Hiccups
I still get occasional stutters, especially in races with lots of cars. And sometimes, the textures still look a little… muddy. But, overall, it’s a massive improvement. I’m hoping the developers release some patches soon to address these lingering graphics problems. I’ve heard other people are having similar issues, so it’s not just me!
I spent most of my time messing around settings.
Anyways, hopefully this helps someone else out there who’s pulling their hair out over Forza’s graphics. It’s a fun game, once you get it looking decent!
