Okay, so I wanted to mess around with creating a simple black and white card design. Nothing fancy, just playing with contrasts and basic shapes.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed a piece of plain white cardstock. You know, the usual stuff you’d use for crafts or whatever. I figured starting with a white base would make the black elements pop more.

Adding the Black
Next, I used a black marker, a thick one, to draw a simple, bold rectangle near the center of the card. No rulers or anything, I wanted it to look a little rough, a bit handmade.
- I made sure the rectangle wasn’t perfectly centered. Off-center feels more dynamic, you know?
- Then i add a few small circles by using a thinner black pen.
Playing with Negative Space
The white space around the black rectangle became important too. It’s like, the white isn’t just nothing, it’s part of the design. After the circles i use a few black lines to fill the card.
Keeping it Simple
I resisted the urge to add more. I could have added patterns, or more shapes, but I wanted to see how much I could do with just black and white, and very basic forms.
It is really important to make the card simple.
The Final Result
It’s surprisingly effective! It’s just a black rectangle on white, but it looks… kinda cool. It’s got that minimalist vibe, I guess. It proves you don’t need a lot of fancy stuff to make something that looks * looks good,i think i will use it to decorate.
