Okay, so I’ve been messing around with runes in League of Legends lately, trying to figure out the best setups for my favorite champions. It’s a constant back-and-forth, you know? Riot keeps tweaking things, and I’m always scrambling to keep up.
First thing I did was jump into a few practice tool games. Just me, myself, and a dummy target. I wanted to get a feel for the raw numbers. How much damage was I actually doing with different rune combinations? How did my sustain in lane change?

Experimentation
- Phase Rush on Cassiopeia:I wanted to test to make my positioning better with her.
- Electrocute vs. Dark Harvest:Always a tough choice on assassins.I Picked zed to test it.
- Grasp of the Undying: See if it’s still viable on tanks after the last round of nerfs.I picked Malphite to test it.
After hitting the practice tool, I jumped into some normal games. Gotta test things out in a real-world scenario, right? Practice tool is fine for getting a baseline, but it doesn’t tell you how things feel in an actual lane against an actual opponent.
The normal games were…interesting. Some of my rune choices worked out great! Others, not so much. Let’s just say I fed a few games while experimenting. But hey, that’s how you learn, right? You gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet, or in this case, lose a few games to optimize your runes.
Finally, after a bunch of games, I started to get a handle on what felt good.I take a few screenshots. I’ve got my go-to rune pages for most of my champions now, but I’m still tweaking things here and there. It’s a never-ending process, honestly. But that’s part of what makes League fun, right? Always something new to learn, always something to improve on.
