Okay, so I’ve been messing around with TFT again, and I wanted to share my experience trying to force a Kayn build. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you.
Getting Started (and Failing a Lot)
First off, I jumped into a bunch of games just thinking, “Yeah, Kayn, easy.” Wrong. I got absolutely destroyed. I was losing gold, losing health, basically losing everything. I realized I needed a plan, not just blind faith in the Shadow Reaper.

Finding the Right Comp
So, I started experimenting. Tried a few different early-game comps to get me to Kayn. Reroll Yasuo? Nope. Some random mix of Duelists? Disaster. Finally, I landed on something that kinda worked: a bit of Nightbringer with some Skirmishers. The idea was to have some frontline to buy time until I could hit Kayn.
- Early game I would Pick up some early Nightbringer units like Aphelios and Sejuani.
- Then add some Skirmisher units to the frontline units like Yasuo and so on.
The Mid-Game Struggle
This is where things got dicey. Even with the Nightbringer/Skirmisher setup, I was still pretty weak. I was bleeding health, trying to hold on until level 7 or 8, where I could realistically find Kayn. I had to be super careful with my gold, only leveling up when absolutely necessary. It was a balancing act between staying alive and saving enough to roll for my carry.
Finally, Kayn! (and the Right Items)
When I finally hit Kayn, it was like a ray of sunshine. But, just having him wasn’t enough. I needed the right items. I learned the hard way that just slapping random stuff on him doesn’t work. I focused on getting things like:
- Hand of Justice: Gives him some sustain and damage.
- Jeweled Gauntlet : It just make kayn get more crits.
- Infinity Edge: More damage, always good.
And some time I would build defense items for kayn, It depends on the situation.
Positioning and Praying
Even with Kayn and decent items, positioning was key. I tried to put him in a spot where he wouldn’t get instantly focused, but could still jump into the backline and wreak havoc. Let’s be honest, there was a lot of praying involved too. Sometimes the AI just decides to target your carry, and there’s nothing you can do.
The Result (Sometimes)
When everything clicked, it was glorious. Kayn would slice through the enemy team, healing himself and doing massive damage. I even managed to win a few games with this strategy. But, it’s definitely not foolproof. There were plenty of times where I still got crushed, either because I couldn’t find Kayn, didn’t get the right items, or just got unlucky.
So, that’s my Kayn build adventure. It’s been a learning experience, to say the least. I’m still working on perfecting it, but I thought I’d share my progress (and my many failures) along the way. Don’t go in expecting to win every game, but if you’re patient and a little bit lucky, you might just be able to make Kayn work!
