Alright, so I decided to tackle the achievements in the Dead Space remake (2023). I’m a bit of a completionist, so I figured, why not? Let’s go for 100%!
Getting Started
First, I started a new game. I could have used my existing save, but I wanted the full experience, plus some achievements are tied to specific difficulty levels. I chose “Medium” at first because wanted to feel it.

The Early Grind
The initial achievements were pretty straightforward. You know, the basic stuff like completing chapters, upgrading weapons, and stomping on those creepy crawlies. I made sure to explore every nook and cranny, looking for resources and those pesky text and audio logs. They help to understand the story.
The Difficulty Spike
Things got trickier when I started aiming for the difficulty-specific achievements. “Impossible” mode was, well, almost impossible! Permadeath is a beast.I got killed a lot,Seriously. But, I learned from each death, adjusted my tactics, and finally managed to beat it. A lot of save scumming.
The Specific Achievements
Some achievements were super specific, like the one where you have to kill a certain enemy with a specific weapon or complete a task in a particular way. For these, I had to use some guides. No shame in that, right? It’s all about efficiency! The “Peng Treasure” one was a wild goose chase, let me tell you. I spent ages searching for that thing!
The Final Push
The last few achievements were a bit of a grind. Lots of collecting every single log and upgrading every weapon to the max. It took time, but it was satisfying to see that completion percentage creep up to 100%.
The Victory Lap
Finally, after hours of gameplay, countless deaths, and a few rage quits, I popped that final achievement. The platinum trophy (or the equivalent on other platforms) was mine! It felt good, man. Really good. Time well spent and a real sense of accomplishment.
