Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Astra, trying to figure out who’s actually good and who’s just…meh. I wouldn’t say I like playing tier list games, but I do enjoy exploring the strength of characters. I’ve spent a good chunk of time playing different characters, trying out different team comps, and generally just smashing buttons to see what happens. Here’s what I’ve found so far:
Getting Started: The Obvious Choices
First, I created my account and started by playing the game in its most recent updated version. I tried many characters.

At the very beginning, I just grabbed whoever looked cool. You know, the ones with the flashy outfits or the big weapons. Turns out, that’s not the best strategy. I got my butt kicked a few times before I realized I needed to pay a little more attention to, like, actual stats and abilities.
Experimenting: Mixing and Matching
Then I started experimenting. I’d pick one character I thought was strong, then try to build a team around them. Sometimes it worked great! Other times…not so much. It was a lot of trial and error.I spent a good chunk of my time to do so. I use online guides to improve my gaming experience and also combine that with my own playing style.
- Team Synergy is Key: I learned pretty quickly that just throwing a bunch of powerful characters together doesn’t guarantee a win. You gotta think about how their abilities work together.
- Don’t Underestimate Support: I used to think support characters were boring. But man, a good healer or buffer can make a HUGE difference.
- Reading is Fundamental: Yeah, yeah, I know. But seriously, reading the character descriptions and understanding their skills is actually important. Who knew?
My (Totally Subjective) Tier List Thoughts
After playing around a bunch, I think I would list the characters in order of their power level. But remember, this is just, like, my opinion, man. It’s based on how I play, and what I find fun. Your mileage may vary, you will have different gaming experiences. So don’t get mad at me if your favorite character isn’t at the top, alright?
Also I found out that some characters seemed OP at first, but then I figured out how to counter them. And some characters I thought were weak turned out to be beasts in the right hands. It’s all a learning process, really.
The Never-Ending Grind
I played for so many hours, I felt exhausted! I started to feel like I was no longer exploring for fun, but started to resemble real work, and I started to get bored! But I persevered in order to write this sharing of my experience.
Honestly, I’m still figuring things out. I’m sure there are tons of strategies and team comps I haven’t even thought of yet. And with new characters and updates coming out all the time, the “best” characters are always changing. That’s part of what makes these games fun, though, right? There’s always something new to learn. Finally I can get my list done, and you’re reading it now!
