Okay, so I’ve been messing around with different support picks in League, trying to find something a little… unconventional. And let me tell you, Bel’Veth support? It’s a thing. Maybe not a good thing all the time, but definitely a thing.
The Experiment Begins
First, I jumped into a normal game, locked in Bel’Veth, and immediately got flamed. My ADC was like, “Report Bel’Veth troll support.” Good start. But I was committed. I went with the standard support item start – you know, the one that gives you gold when you poke enemies or when minions die nearby.

I started with my Q, ‘Void Surge’, thinking I could poke the enemy bot lane and get some gold. The problem? Bel’Veth’s early game poke is… well, it’s pretty bad. She’s all about getting those stacks, and it’s hard to stack when you’re getting zoned by a Caitlyn and Lux.
Laning Phase Woes (and Some Wins)
Honestly, the laning phase was rough. I felt pretty useless. I couldn’t really engage without getting blown up, and my poke was negligible. My ADC was farming under tower most of the time, and I was just trying not to die. I focused on warding and trying to track the enemy jungler.
But here’s where things got a little interesting. Once I got my E, ‘Royal Maelstrom’, things changed a bit. It’s a decent disengage tool, and I could use it to protect my ADC if they got caught out. And if the enemy laners overextended, I could sometimes land a W, ‘Above and Below’, to knock them up, giving my ADC a chance to get some damage in.
We actually managed to get a couple of kills this way. The enemy support would get cocky, walk up too far, and I’d W-Q-E them, and my ADC would clean up. These small victories, though, felt like pure luck.
Mid to Late Game… Surprise!
Here’s the surprising part: Bel’Veth support actually gets kind of… okay in the mid to late game. Once you have a few items, you can become a surprisingly effective peeler. With the support item evolution, you can get plenty of vision control in.
I found myself using my Q to dash around team fights, trying to knock up key targets with my W. My E was crucial for keeping my ADC (and other carries) alive, providing some damage reduction and a bit of CC. And if the fight went long enough, and I could stack my passive, I actually started doing some decent damage.
I experimented with building slightly tankier, too. After my support item, I usually grabbed items that provided health and resistances like an early Locket.
The Verdict
So, is Bel’Veth support good? Probably not in a conventional sense. It’s definitely not something I’d recommend for ranked unless you’re really confident and have a duo partner who’s on board with the chaos.
But is it fun? Absolutely. It’s a completely different way to play support, and when it works, it feels amazing. It’s like playing a weird, disruptive, melee-range enchanter. You’re not going to be carrying the game, but you can definitely make some plays and tilt the enemy team.
Here are some bullet points with the good and the bad of my experience:

- Pros:
- Surprisingly good peel in the mid to late game.
- Can disrupt team fights with knock-ups.
- Fun and unconventional.
- Enemies get VERY tilted.
- Cons:
- Terrible early game.
- Reliant on your team to follow up.
- Easily punished by coordinated teams.
- Your ADC might hate you.
Would I do it again? Maybe. If I’m feeling spicy and playing with friends. Would I recommend it to others? Only if you’re prepared for a bumpy ride and a lot of question mark pings from your team. You’ve been warned!
