Alright, so I wanted to get into this whole “training points” thing in Madden 23. I’d heard some folks talking about it, and figured, why not? I mean, who doesn’t want to make their players better, right?
Figuring Out How to Get These Points
First thing I did was jump into Franchise mode. I picked my team, the glorious Patriots, and started poking around. Initially, I was a bit lost, not gonna lie. But then I started playing some games, doing some of the weekly training stuff in the menus. You know, the drills and strategy options you get before each game.

I noticed that after each week, win or lose, I was getting some points. It wasn’t a ton, but it was something. I started experimenting, tried focusing on certain players during these weekly training sessions. And guess what? The more I used a player in those drills, the more points I seemed to get that could be used to boost them specifically.
Putting the Points to Work
Next, I needed to figure out how to actually use these points. I went into the “Manage Roster” section and found the “Team Development” area. From there, I could go into individual player development. And there it was – a whole screen full of attributes I could upgrade using those hard-earned training points.
It’s kinda like a mini-game in itself. I could boost a guy’s speed, or his catching ability, or whatever. I started out by focusing on my younger players, the ones with the most potential. I figured, if I could make them beasts early on, it would pay off big time down the road.
Experimenting and Seeing Results
I spent a good chunk of time just messing around with this. I tried different strategies each week, focusing on different position groups, different types of drills. I learned that the “focus players” feature was super important. That’s where you can really target the guys you want to improve.
It was cool to see the progress. Some of my rookies started to really shine after a few weeks. I had a wide receiver who started out kinda slow, but after pumping up his speed and agility, he became a real deep threat. It felt good, like I was actually making a difference in how my team performed.
My Takeaway
So, yeah, that’s my experience with training points in Madden 23. It’s definitely something you want to pay attention to if you’re serious about Franchise mode. It takes a little time to get the hang of it, but once you do, it’s a really rewarding part of the game. You can really shape your team and watch your players grow. It’s pretty awesome, to be honest. You should really have a try to experience it!
