Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into this “Fire Emblem” game lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I wanted to share my experiences and maybe help some folks out who are just starting or struggling a bit. This is basically my personal walkthrough, from zero to, well, not quite hero yet, but I’m getting there!
First off, I started the game on normal difficulty, just to get a feel for things. I mean, the game’s easy on normal, and I was cruising through the first few chapters. I quickly realized the game has a “rock-paper-scissors” system with the weapons, which they call the “weapon triangle.” It’s like, swords beat axes, axes beat lances, and lances beat swords. Got it. Easy enough.

But then, I got cocky and bumped it up to hard mode. Big mistake. It went from zero to one hundred real fast. Suddenly, I wasn’t just facing enemies head-on; I was getting swarmed by reinforcements from all sides! I was overwhelmed, to say the least. And I was being punished for not knowing how to deal with those reinforcements. There was this one mission, man…I was supposed to rescue this guy, and it was a disaster. I kept charging in, and my units kept getting wiped out.
- So, I took a step back. I started over, this time with a more tactical approach. The first thing I did differently was pay more attention to the weapon triangle. I mean, really pay attention.
- Next, I learned to use the terrain to my advantage. Putting units in forests or on mountains gives them a defense boost. Who knew?
- And that rescue mission? I figured out that I needed to bait the enemy, draw them out, and then use my stronger units to counterattack. And finally, I managed to rescue that guy, not losing a single unit. I kept him rescued until the next turn, just like the strategy guide suggested.
Slowly but surely, I started to get the hang of it. I learned the importance of healing units, and that’s when I began to really appreciate Serra and Erk. Let me tell you, Serra’s heals became a lifesaver, and I finally began to appreciate the magic. I started taking out enemies much faster, and before I knew it, I was winning the hard battles.
I’m still playing, still learning, but I’m definitely enjoying the game a lot more now that I’m not getting constantly wrecked. I still have a long way to go, but I finally feel like I have a chance. It’s not about brute force, I had to actually think, and that’s pretty cool.
So, yeah, that’s my “Fire Emblem” journey so far. It’s been tough, frustrating, but ultimately rewarding. I hope this little write-up of my experience helps someone out there. And hey, if a noob like me can make progress, so can you!
