Alright, so the other day I was messing around with “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,” and I got really into trying to make the Haymaker shotgun a total beast. Let me tell you, this thing starts off pretty weak, but with the right setup, it’s a monster up close.
So, first off, I jumped into a bunch of matches just to get a feel for the Haymaker in its basic form. It was rough, I kept dying and the damage was super inconsistent. But that was expected, gotta start somewhere, right? I did some experiments and tried some different attachments and stuff.

My Experiments and Recording
- Experiment 1: I slapped on a longer barrel first, thinking it would help with range. It kinda did, but it still wasn’t great. I was recording my gameplay too, so I could go back and see what was working and what wasn’t.
- Experiment 2: Then I played around with different ammo types. Buckshot, slugs, you name it. Slugs were interesting, but they didn’t really fit my playstyle. I wanted something that could clear a room fast. I went back to my recordings again to analyze, rewinding and watching, it took me a while.
- Experiment 3: This is when things started to get interesting. I found this magazine attachment that seriously increased the fire rate. I realized that Haymaker could be turned into a rapid-fire machine and it would be so powerful.
- Experiment 4: After a bit more tinkering, I added a laser sight for better hip-fire accuracy. Because when you’re running around with a shotgun, aiming down sights is way too slow and inconvenient.
After all that, I finally nailed down a build that I was happy with. This thing was shredding enemies at close range. I kept playing and tweaking a little here and there, but the core of the build was solid. It took a while, but seeing all the numbers and stuff from the recording pay off was super satisfying.
And hey, I even started messing with different perks and equipment to complement the Haymaker. Like, I found that having a good secondary weapon was crucial, since the Haymaker’s not great at long range. It’s all about finding that balance, you know? Anyway, that’s my little journey with the Haymaker. It’s a fun gun to use when you get it set up right, so give it a shot if you’re into shotguns!
