So, the other day I was just messing around, and I got this idea to try out the Vanguard bundle in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. I’d heard some chatter about it, and since I was already into the game, figured why not give it a shot.
Getting Started
First off, I launched the game on my PC. I play on Steam, but I know some folks use WinPC, and apparently, it works for them too. The deal was, anyone who had played Darktide on PC before November 17, 2023, was supposed to get this Vanguard bundle. I was like, “Cool, I definitely played before that,” so I was expecting to see something new when I logged in.

The Process
Once I was in the game, I started looking around to see where this bundle might be. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t super obvious at first. I was clicking through menus, checking my inventory, all that jazz. I even hopped onto a couple of forums to see if anyone else had figured it out. Turns out, a lot of people were in the same boat, kind of confused about how to actually get their hands on the bundle.
- Launched Darktide on PC (Steam).
- Checked in-game menus and inventory for the bundle.
- Looked up online forums for guidance.
Figuring It Out
After a bit of digging, I found out that the bundle was supposed to be automatically granted. There wasn’t like a special code or anything to redeem, which was a relief. I also read that this was some kind of anniversary thing, which made sense. I guess Fatshark, the developers, wanted to give a little something back to the players who had been around for a while.
The Payoff
Eventually, I noticed some new items in my inventory that I definitely didn’t have before. That’s when I realized, “Aha, this must be it!” It was a pretty sweet feeling, getting these exclusive items just for being an early player. I started equipping them and trying them out in the game, messing around with different loadouts and seeing how they affected my gameplay.
- Discovered the bundle was automatically added to the account.
- Found new items in the inventory.
- Experimented with the new items in-game.
Final Thoughts
All in all, it was a cool little bonus for someone who’s been enjoying Darktide. It wasn’t a huge game-changer, but it was a nice gesture from the developers. Plus, it was fun to have something new to play around with. If you were playing Darktide on PC before mid-November last year, make sure you check your inventory – you might have some new goodies waiting for you!
I have heard some gossip that Xbox players also got the Vanguard bundle, and it seems that players who own the gamepass can also get this bundle. If you are interested, go try it out.
And Patch #15 of Darktide has been updated recently. If you haven’t logged in for a long time, log in and have a look.
