Alright, so I’ve been playing MLB The Show 24, and I just finished my work about the next roster update. Let me tell you, it was quite a ride!
First off, I started by digging into the latest news about the game. They’re dropping Season 4 content tomorrow, which is pretty exciting. With the 2024 Major League Baseball season wrapped up, the timing feels just right. After I gathered all the news, I opened the game and tried to find the places to update.

Then I started to look at some of the key player changes. You know, those switches that can really shake up your game strategy. Here’s what I found:
- Blake Treinen is now CP for the Dodgers.
- Danny Coulombe is now CP for the Orioles.
- Matt McLain is now SS for the Reds.
- Liam Hendriks is now RP for the Red Sox.
- Tyler Wells is now SP for the Orioles.
- Craig Kimbrel is now CP for the Orioles.
- Yennier Cano is now RP for the Orioles.
- Jarren Duran is now RF for the Red Sox.
- Tyler Duffey is now RP for the Twins.
- Emilio Pagan is now CP for the Twins.
- Dylan Floro is now RP for the Marlins.
- Robert Gsellman is now RP for the Cubs.
- Kirby Yates is now RP for the Blue Jays.
- Matt Barnes is now RP for the Red Sox.
- Trevor Rosenthal is now RP for the Athletics.
- Jake McGee is now RP for the Giants.
These changes are huge! Like, if you had Kimbrel as your closer and now he’s been moved, you gotta rethink your whole bullpen strategy.
Next, I dove into some individual player stats. For instance, I noticed that Shohei Ohtani from the Angels has a H/9 rating of 98. That’s insane! And Mike Trout, also from the Angels, has some changes too. His CON R is now 100, but his overall rating dropped from 97 to 95. It’s interesting to see how these numbers shift and how they might affect gameplay.
I also checked out some of the program stuff. To get to the 5th Inning Program, you gotta collect the 4th Inning Bosses. I managed to earn 50,000 XP by getting Future Stars Wander Franco, which felt pretty good.
After all that, I sat back and thought about how these updates will change the game. It’s not just about individual player stats; it’s about how the whole team dynamic shifts. I’m really looking forward to seeing how these changes play out in Season 4.
So yeah, that’s my take on the latest MLB The Show 24 roster update. It was a lot of work, but totally worth it. I just have to write this down quickly, then I should go back to keep playing this game. Let me know what you guys think!
