So, I was scrolling through my feeds the other day, and this question popped up: What is magnemite weak against? Got me thinking, you know? I mean, I’ve been playing Pokemon for ages, but I never really gave it much thought. So, I decided to dive in and figure it out.
First, I grabbed my trusty old phone and started googling. Found a bunch of stuff about Pokemon types and weaknesses. Turns out, Magnemite is an Electric/Steel type. I always remember that Magnemite is weak to Ground type moves, I think it might be very weak to it.

- I fired up one of those Pokemon simulators to test things out.
- Chose a Magnemite and pitted it against different Pokemon.
- Started throwing all sorts of moves at it.
As expected, Ground type moves like Mud Shot and Precipice Blades just demolished the poor little guy. It was like watching a bug get squashed by a boot. It has 7758.7 score when using those moves against a Magnemite. That’s insane!
Then, I tried a few other types. Grass, Electric, and Dragon did have some effect, but it is not effective as Ground type. Seemed like they did a bit better, but nothing major, though. Flying type moves? Forget about it. Magnemite just shrugged them off like they were nothing. It’s no wonder because Magnemite is an Electric type, so it must be strong against Flying type.
My Findings
Here’s the lowdown: Magnemite is seriously weak against Ground. If you’re facing one, just spam those Ground moves, and you’ll be golden. I saw some other sources mention that it evolved to Magneton with 25 Candy and to Magnezone with 100 Candy. And it says something about Spark, Thunder Shock, and Volt Switch, but I’m not too sure about those moves.
This whole thing was a fun little experiment. Makes you realize how much detail goes into these games. I might start looking into other Pokemon weaknesses now. It’s like a whole new world has opened up, haha!
