Alright, let’s talk about my little adventure with Porygon2 in Pokémon GO. So, I was really into catching ’em all, you know, as you do when you’re hooked on this game. I got this Porygon, right? Just a regular, Normal-type Pokémon from the Kanto region. Cute little fella, made by humans using science, they say. It’s got this artificial intelligence thing going on, which is pretty neat.
So, I started with Porygon. Max CP was something like 1944, not too shabby. But here’s the thing, it’s weak against Fighting-type moves. I learned that the hard way, got beat up pretty bad in a few raids. Its best moveset was Tackle and Hyper Beam, which was cool, but I wanted more. I wanted that Porygon2.

To get Porygon2, you gotta evolve Porygon. You need 25 candies and this thing called an Up-Grade. Candies? I had tons of those from catching so many Porygons. But the Up-Grade, that was a bit trickier. I spun a lot of PokéStops, did some raids, and finally, I got one.
The big moment! I fed my Porygon those 25 candies, gave it the Up-Grade, and boom! It evolved into Porygon2. Pretty cool, huh? This one’s from the Johto region, got a bit more bulk compared to the regular Porygon. They say it was upgraded to explore other planets, but I haven’t seen it do that yet. Maybe in a future update, who knows?

First step: Catch a Porygon
Walked around, spun a lot of stops and finally got one.
-
Second step: Get those candies
Caught more Porygons, transferred the extras, walked with my buddy Porygon. Easy peasy.
-
Third step: Find an Up-Grade
Spun PokéStops like crazy, did a bunch of raids, finally got one. This was the hardest part.
-
Fourth step: Evolve
Fed Porygon the candies, gave it the Up-Grade, and watched the magic happen.
Now, Porygon2 isn’t the strongest out there. Its strongest moveset is Lock-On and Hyper Beam, but it’s still vulnerable to Fighting-type moves. Max CP is around 2, I think. Not bad, not great. But hey, it’s got that cool, artificial intelligence vibe, and it’s supposed to be able to learn new gestures and emotions. I haven’t seen it do anything crazy yet, but it’s still fun to have in my collection.
So, that’s my story about getting Porygon2. It was a bit of a grind, especially getting that Up-Grade, but I did it. Now I’ve got this Normal-type, Virtual Pokémon hanging out in my storage. Maybe one day it’ll be super useful, but for now, it’s just a cool little trophy from my Pokémon GO adventures.
