I saw some people talking about how to counter Muk in Pokémon Go, so I thought I’d give it a try and see how it goes.
So, first off, I logged into the game. I checked out the info online. It mentioned using Pokémon like Shadow Mewtwo, Primal Groudon, and Mega Alakazam. I didn’t have those, but it also said Mewtwo was a good option, which I do have a few of.

I started off by looking at Muk’s movesets. It seemed like it had some strong attacks, but it also had weaknesses. The website I looked at suggested which Pokémon were good against Muk’s defense. I figured my best bet was to use my strongest Mewtwo.
First Try
- Pokémon Used: Mewtwo
- Moveset: Confusion, Psystrike
I jumped into a raid with a few other players. It was tough! My Mewtwo did okay, but Muk’s attacks were hitting hard. We managed to beat it, but it wasn’t easy. I used up a bunch of revives and potions afterward.
Second Try
- Pokémon Used: Mewtwo, Groudon
- Moveset: Confusion, Psystrike (Mewtwo); Mud Shot, Earthquake (Groudon)
I tried again, this time bringing along my Groudon too. I saw that Shadow Groudon was a top counter, but I just had a regular one. I had to check which of my pokemon could do good against Muk. I figured using two good counters was better than just one. Groudon’s ground-type attacks seemed to do better against Muk. We won again, and it felt a bit easier this time, but still a challenge.
Later Tries
I kept at it a few more times, trying different combinations. I even used my Mega Gallade once, just to see how it would do. It wasn’t the best, but it was fun to try. Through my attempts I found that it would be the best if I had a Shadow Mewtwo. Each battle gave me a better idea of what worked and what didn’t.
In the end, I found that using my stronger Pokémon like Mewtwo and Groudon was the most effective way to counter Muk. It’s definitely a tough opponent, but with the right team, it’s beatable. Plus, it’s a good way to get some practice in and learn more about the game.
If you’re having trouble with Muk, try using your strongest psychic and ground-type Pokémon. And don’t forget to team up with other players! It’s way more fun, and easier, when you work together.
