So, I was messing around with Valorant the other day, trying to up my game, you know? I heard a lot of folks talking about this pro player, MaKo from DRX, and how his settings are like, the golden ticket to getting good. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First things first, I had to dig up what MaKo’s settings even were. Took a bit of searching, but I finally found a solid list. Seemed easy enough, so I jumped into the game, ready to tweak away.

Mouse Settings
- DPI: I started with the mouse settings. MaKo’s DPI was set to something I wasn’t used to. I usually play with a higher DPI, but I switched it down to match his. Felt weird at first, like moving through molasses.
- Sensitivity: Then there’s the in-game sensitivity. Again, had to adjust this to what he uses. It’s a whole different world when you change these settings. My aim was all over the place initially.
- eDPI: This one’s a bit of math, multiplying your DPI by your in-game sensitivity. I made sure mine matched MaKo’s. Who knew numbers could be so important in a game?
After the mouse, I moved onto the video settings. Changed my resolution, turned off some fancy effects that MaKo doesn’t use. It’s like stripping down a car to make it go faster, I guess.
Crosshair
- Next up, the crosshair. This was a trip. I copied down MaKo’s crosshair settings. Size, color, outlines, the whole nine yards. It looked so different from my usual setup, I almost felt like I was playing a different game.
Then came the real test – actually playing the game. Oh boy, was it rough. My muscle memory was screaming at me. Every flick, every shot felt off. I was whiffing shots I’d normally hit in my sleep. But I stuck with it, thinking maybe there’s some magic in these settings.
I played a few matches, getting absolutely wrecked. It was humbling, to say the least. But slowly, I started to see why MaKo uses these settings. The lower sensitivity made my aim more precise, once I got used to it. The crosshair, as weird as it looked to me, actually helped me focus better.
It’s not like I suddenly became a Valorant god or anything. I’m still pretty average, but I can see the potential. It’s like learning to walk again, but with the promise that maybe, just maybe, I’ll be able to run faster in the future.
So, that’s my little adventure with MaKo’s settings. It’s a work in progress, and I’m not sure if I’ll stick with them forever. But it’s definitely an eye-opener. Makes you realize how much these little settings can impact your gameplay. It’s not just about skill, it’s about finding what works for you, even if it means copying a pro’s homework for a bit.
