Okay, so I’ve been messing around with MLB The Show 24, trying to figure out the best way to pitch. It’s a bit of a journey, let me tell you.
I started out using the “Strike Zone” camera view because, well, it made sense. I could see how the pitch was going to break, and it felt like I had more control over where it was going. But I couldn’t enjoy the beautiful scenes in this game! The view is too narrow.

- Tried out a few different camera angles.
- “Fisheye” is kind of cool. You get a much wider view of the field, and it looks pretty sweet, but it didn’t really improve my game.
- I also experimented with the “Offset” view, which is from behind the pitcher. That was interesting. It did feel more like I was actually on the mound, throwing the ball, but I just couldn’t get the hang of aiming properly. I think most people use the batter view, but I just didn’t like that.
Then I started looking into the actual pitching interfaces. There are a bunch to choose from, like Meter, Pulse, and Analog. They all have their own quirks. But after trying each of them, the winner for me was definitely “Pinpoint.”
They added Pinpoint back in MLB The Show 21, and honestly, it’s the best one if you really want to feel like you’re in control. It’s more about your own skill than just timing a meter or something. I highly recommend Pinpoint especially for the online match.
My pitching settings
- Camera view: Fisheye
- Pitching interfaces: Pinpoint
So, that’s where I’m at right now. I’m rocking the Pinpoint interface with Fisheye camera. My go-to pitches right now are the Sinker, Cutter, and Slider/Slurve. I’m still practicing, still tweaking things, but it’s definitely feeling a lot better than when I started. I’m finally starting to strike some people out! It’s a work in progress, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
I’ll keep you guys updated as I play more and figure out what works best for me. It is fun to share these experiences!
