Okay, so a few days ago, I was playing Animal Crossing, and this guy Redd showed up on my island. He’s got this shady boat full of art, and you never really know what’s real and what’s fake. I was looking at this one statue, the Gallant Statue, and I was like, “Is this thing the real deal or just some knock-off?”
So I started looking real close at it. I remember reading somewhere that the fake one is holding a book. I checked the statue out from all angles, looking for a book. No book! I thought, “Alright, maybe this is the real one!”

- First, I checked for a book under the statue’s arm.
- Then, I looked to see if he had on a necklace, cause I heard the fake one has a necklace.
- Finally, I checked for antennae. I heard the fake one would have two big antennae.
But then I remembered something about the eyes. The real one is supposed to have normal eyes, but the fake one has these weird, heart-shaped eyes. So I zoomed in real close on the statue’s face, squinting and trying to see the shape of its eyes. They looked pretty normal to me, not really heart-shaped.
My Discovery
After all that, I was pretty sure I had a genuine Gallant Statue on my hands. No book, no heart eyes, no necklace, no antennae. I bought it from Redd, took it to Blathers at the museum, and guess what? He confirmed it! It was the real deal! I was so stoked! I mean, it’s just a game, but it felt pretty good to outsmart that sneaky fox and get a genuine piece of art for my museum.
It just goes to show you, you gotta pay attention to the details. A little bit of research and a close eye can save you from getting ripped off, even in a video game! From now on, I’m gonna be extra careful whenever I buy art from Redd. I don’t want to waste my bells on any more fakes!
