Alright, so I’ve been playing Pokemon Go for a while now, and let me tell you, electric-type Pokemon are some of my favorites. They are real beasts! I mean, who doesn’t love a good electric-type, right? They are super effective against those flying and water-type critters, which are everywhere. So today, I wanted to share my experience with finding and using the best electric-types in the game.
First off, I spent a lot of time just catching every electric-type Pokemon I could find. I mean, I was on a mission. I walked around parks, went to different events, and even raided a bunch of gyms, just to get my hands on these guys.

One of the first ones I got my eyes on was Mega Manectric. I saw some guys talking about it online, calling it a “monster”, and boy, were they right. This thing is powerful! I managed to evolve my Electrike during an event and then powered it up like crazy. It took a bunch of stardust and candies, but it was so worth it. I noticed its attack stat was super high, something like 286? It became one of my go-to Pokemon for raids and gym battles. It just shreds through the competition!
- Mega Manectric: Seriously, this guy is a beast. High attack and looks super cool.
- Raikou: Took me ages to catch this one in a raid, but it’s a solid choice. Chubby, but strong, I like it.
- Electivire: Evolving it was a pain, but it’s great for taking down those pesky water types.
- Magnezone: I love this one because it’s also part steel-type, so it can take a hit.
My Top Electric-Type Pokemon
I also tried out some other ones like Luxray, Zapdos, and even Ampharos, but the ones in my list were the ones I found to be the most reliable in battles. Mega Ampharos with those “luscious locks” is pretty fun to use, too, even if it isn’t always the strongest.
My basic strategy is to use these electric-types against any Pokemon that are water or flying-type. For example, when I see a Gyarados, I instantly swap to my Mega Manectric or Electivire, and they just melt it. It’s so satisfying!
Finding these Pokemon wasn’t always easy. I had to participate in a lot of events, especially during those special community days or electric-type events. I remember this one time during a raid event, I finally caught a Raikou. It was a tough battle, but so worth it.
In the end, it’s all about experimenting and seeing what works best for you. But trust me, getting yourself a strong electric-type team will make your life so much easier in Pokemon Go. You’ll be taking down gyms and winning raids like a pro. Just keep catching, evolving, and powering up your Pokemon, and you’ll be good to go!
