Alright, so I’ve been diving into this “Midyear Mayhem” thing in The Elder Scrolls Online. Let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride! I heard about it a while back, but I wasn’t sure when it would actually kick off. Some folks were saying February 22nd, others were guessing later. Turns out, the smart money was on late February, but the exact date was still up in the air.
I kept my eyes peeled on the forums, you know, like we do. Finally, I saw the announcement: Mayhem was starting this Thursday! I marked it on my calendar, cleared my schedule, and got ready for some action.

When the day finally came, I jumped into the game, eager to see what this event was all about. I’d heard it was a great way to get into PvP, which I’m usually not big on. But hey, new collectibles and loot? I’m in!
- First, I made sure I was ready for some player-versus-player action. I mean, this is the Midyear Mayhem, after all!
- Then I grabbed the quest from Predicant Maera. It’s called Midyear Mayhem too, how original. You can find her near any of the battleground camps outside major cities.
- Next, I went through the quest steps which were pretty easy.
- After that, I just dove into the different PvP modes. There’s Cyrodiil, which is this massive open-world warzone. It’s crazy, but fun!
- Then there’s the Imperial City, which is smaller but still intense. And of course, the Battlegrounds, which are these quick, small-scale matches.
Here’s how I got started:
I spent hours running around, fighting other players, and completing objectives. Honestly, it was way more exciting than just killing dragons or doing boring daily quests. The double drops from zone events were a nice bonus, I gotta say.
The best part, though? The rewards! I started raking in these things called Pelinal’s Midyear Boon Boxes. They’re full of all sorts of goodies, like Tel Var Stones, transmutation crystals, and even rare crafting materials. Plus, I got a bunch of Alliance Points, which are super useful for getting cool gear and items. The event’s not just about fighting. It’s also about looking good while doing it. I managed to snag some awesome new collectibles, like that wild-looking body marking and the Alliance Banner Emblem, not very useful but looks pretty cool in my collections.
I also tried to complete those event achievements. They were a bit tough, but I managed to get a few of them done. The “Mayhem Connoisseur” one was particularly satisfying. And hey, I even got a new title out of it: “Star-Made Knight”. Sounds pretty epic, right?
Now, I heard that The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road is coming out soon – June 3rd for PC, and June 18th for consoles. I might have to pre-purchase that to get the Welkyndstone Ruins Wolf mount. That sounds too good to pass up.
Anyway, if you’re an ESO player, you gotta check out Midyear Mayhem next time it rolls around. It’s a blast! Trust me, even if you’re not a big PvP person, it’s worth it for the loot and the fun. Just watch out for those gankers in Cyrodiil – they’re everywhere! And I can’t wait to play the new Gold Road chapter!
