So, I’ve been grinding away at MLB The Show 23, and like many of you, I hit a point where I was itching for a change of scenery. I wanted to swap teams, try out a new ballpark, and shake things up a bit. Initially, I thought, “No biggie, I’ll just request a trade.” Boy, was I in for a surprise!
I dove into the game, expecting to find a straightforward “request trade” option somewhere in the menus. I mean, it was there in MLB The Show 22, right? You could just pop into the options menu in Road to The Show mode, navigate to the interactions tab, and boom – the option to request a trade was right there. But in MLB The Show 23? Nope, it’s gone! I went through every menu, every setting, every nook and cranny of the game interface. I even tried to enable Force Trades in the ‘Gameplay Options’ settings. Nothing. It’s like the developers, SDS, just decided to yank it out without telling anyone.

After a little digging around online, I found out I wasn’t the only one scratching my head. Turns out, in this version, you can’t just put in a trade request whenever you feel like it. You have to sit tight and wait for your agent to give you a call. When does that happen? Your guess is as good as mine! It’s totally random.
So, here’s what I figured out from my little adventure:
- Waiting Game: Basically, I had to put my trade dreams on hold and just keep playing. It’s all about waiting for that call from your agent.
- Agent’s Call: When my agent finally called, it felt like winning the lottery. He gave me the lowdown and mentioned a few teams that might be interested. It’s not a guarantee, but it’s a start.
- Locker Room: After my agent called, I went to My Player’s locker room and selected “Request a Trade,” and then you just have to play the waiting game.
- Keep Playing Well: While I was waiting, I made sure to play my best. Boosting your stats seems to make you more appealing to other teams. It’s like applying for a job, I guess you gotta show them what you’re worth!
Honestly, it’s a bit of a bummer that they removed the direct trade request option. It made things so much simpler in the past. Now, it feels like you’re just crossing your fingers and hoping for the best. But hey, that’s the game, right? Sometimes you gotta roll with the punches. At least now you have learned from my experience. Keep grinding, keep your stats up, and hopefully, your agent will hook you up with a trade when you least expect it!
