Okay, so I’ve been grinding in League of Legends lately, and it’s time to talk about placements. You know, those first few matches that determine where you start in the ranked season. Man, it can be a real rollercoaster.
First things first, I decided to schedule some time each day to play. Consistency is key, right? I carved out a couple of hours, usually in the evenings, when I could really focus. And you know, I didn’t just jump straight into ranked. I warmed up with a few normal games to get my fingers moving and my head in the game.

Next, I started checking out some stats and builds online. I mean, you gotta stay informed about what’s working, what champions are strong, and what items are meta. It’s like doing your homework before a big test. There are a bunch of websites and apps for this, it can be overwhelming. But don’t get bogged down in it, just get a general sense of what’s good.
- Avoid those champions with consistently low win rates. I mean, why make it harder on yourself? If a champion is struggling across the board, it’s probably not the best pick for your placements.
- I also tried to catch some pro play when I could. Watching the best players in the world can give you some good ideas, you know? You see how they play certain champions, what strategies they use, and how they adapt to different situations.
Now, onto the placement matches themselves. The first one was a bit of a disaster. It was the first time playing rank this season, I was nervous, and it showed. I made some dumb mistakes, died a few too many times, and we ended up losing. Not the best start, but I tried not to let it get me down.
The next few matches were a bit of a mixed bag. Some were pretty easy, others were a real grind. I tried to focus on playing solid, not making too many risky plays, and just generally being a good teammate. Communication is so important, even if it’s just simple pings. One bad apple, one toxic teammate can bring down the whole team.
Staying Sane
One of the most important things I learned is to avoid burnout. It’s easy to get caught up in the grind and play for hours on end, but that’s not always a good idea. I made sure to take breaks, stretch my legs, and do something else to clear my head. Your mind and body will thank you later, trust me.
And finally, don’t forget about your life outside the game. It’s easy to get sucked into the world of League, but you gotta maintain a balance. Make time for your friends, your family, your hobbies, whatever else makes you happy. Your real life is still happening, don’t neglect it.
After all five of my placements, I ended up getting placed lower than I wanted. It’s a bit frustrating, but hey, that’s just how it goes sometimes. Now I know where I stand, and I can start the climb. It’s a long season, and there’s plenty of time to improve. I’ll keep grinding, keep learning, and see where I end up.
So, that’s my placement story. It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, but I made it through. Just remember to stay focused, stay positive, and don’t forget to take care of yourself. Good luck with your placements, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
