Okay, so, I’ve been hooked on Pokmon Go again lately. It’s been a while, but with the Spring into Spring 2022 event, I just had to jump back in. You know how it is, right? This time, my main focus was on catching that fluffy little cotton candy monster, Swirlix.
I started my hunt, I opened up a bunch of gifts, I think around 15. That gave me like, maybe 5 Ultra Balls. At first, I was like, “Okay, 5 Ultra Balls, that’s gonna be no problem, I’ll catch 5 Swirlix in no time.” But then I realized, I needed way more than 5 to complete the challenges – 30, to be precise. That meant I needed 25 more Ultra Balls. You know how it goes in this game, right? So I started spinning PokStops like crazy. I must’ve hit dozens of them, walking past so many Swirlix along the way. It was a grind, I’ll tell ya.

And let me tell you, catching Swirlix isn’t just about having enough Pok Balls. I learned that the hard way. This little guy has a base catch rate of around 16.74%, which, you know, isn’t super high. But here’s a little trick I picked up: throwing a curved Great throw really helps. I managed to get it up to around 37.32% chance. Not too shabby, huh?
The Battle Plan
- Step 1: Stock up on Pok Balls.
- Step 2: Practice those curved Great throws. Seriously, they make a difference.
- Step 3: Find a good spot with lots of PokStops. You’re gonna need to spin a lot of them.
I also did a bit of research on the best counters for Swirlix. Turns out, there are some strong ones like Necrozma – Dusk Mane, Mega Beedrill, and Shadow Metagross. I didn’t have all of these, but I made do with what I had. And guess what? I even encountered Swirlix as a Tier 1 raid boss during the event. That was pretty cool.
After several months of grinding, and battling, I finally managed to catch enough Swirlix to complete my collection and all related tasks. It was a ton of work, but totally worth it. And hey, I even managed to evolve a couple of them. They look so cool when they evolve! Swirlix is really a cute Pokmon, especially it is vulnerable to Poison and Steel moves, and its strongest moveset is Tackle and Draining Kiss. Also, its Max CP is only 1. Not strong, but really a good-looking Pokémon.
So, yeah, that’s my Swirlix adventure in a nutshell. It’s been a fun ride, and I’m already looking forward to the next event. Gotta catch ’em all, right?
