Alright, let’s dive into my little experiment with Porygon-Z in Pokemon Go. I was fiddling around, trying to figure out the best moves for this digital dude. See, Porygon-Z, it’s not your everyday Pokemon. It’s all digital and whatnot, supposed to be this super-advanced creature.
So, first things first, I had to evolve my Porygon. Getting him to Porygon-Z takes a bit of doing. I used up some candies and one of those Sinnoh Stones. You gotta power up your basic Porygon, then evolve it into Porygon2, and finally, Porygon-Z. It’s a whole process, I tell ya.

Once I got my Porygon-Z, I started messing around with its moves. This thing’s got a few options for fast attacks – Charge Beam, Hidden Power, and Lock-On. After playing a bunch of battles, I found that Lock-On seems to be the way to go. It charges up your energy pretty quick.
- Charge Beam: Kinda slow for my liking.
- Hidden Power: It’s okay, but not great.
- Lock-On: This one’s the winner. Charges fast, lets you use those big attacks more often.
Now, for the big, charged attacks, I tried a few. Hyper Beam hits like a truck. I mean, seriously, it does a ton of damage. There are others like Solar Beam and Zap Cannon, but Hyper Beam just seemed to do the job better. I read somewhere that using Hyper Beam with Lock-On gives you the best damage per second. Sounded about right from what I saw.
I took my Porygon-Z to some raids and gym battles. Man, this guy can dish out some serious hurt. With that Lock-On and Hyper Beam combo, it felt like I was just plowing through opponents. And when it gets that damage boost from its Adaptability thing, it’s even more powerful.
My Go-To Moveset
So, after all that messing around, here’s what I settled on:
- Fast Attack: Lock-On
- Charged Attack: Hyper Beam
This combo worked best for me. I could spam those Hyper Beams pretty regularly. Plus, Porygon-Z’s got a pretty high combat power stat, something like 3693 CP at its max. It’s a beast in battles, I gotta say.
I did see some folks talking about using Tackle, but you need one of those Elite Fast TMs, and I didn’t have one of those lying around. Maybe I’ll try that another time. Also, I heard cloudy weather makes it stronger, but honestly, I didn’t really notice that much of a difference. I played a few rounds with this setup, and let me tell you, it was a blast. Porygon-Z might not be the best for everything, but it sure is fun to use.
Anyways, that’s my two cents on Porygon-Z in Pokemon Go. If you’re looking to try something different, give this digital duck a go. Just my experience, of course. Your mileage may vary, as they say!
