Okay, so I’ve been grinding Valorant again lately, trying to climb the ranks, you know how it is. And I thought, why not share my little experiment with you guys? I spent the last couple of weeks really diving deep into the agent pool, trying to figure out who’s really worth mastering in 2024. Let me tell you, the meta is always changing!
First, I started by playing a bunch of games with each agent, just to get a feel for their abilities and how they play in the current landscape. I made notes after every match, jotting down what worked, what didn’t, and how I felt playing each character.

Experimenting with Different Roles
Then, I decided to categorize them by their roles, you know, Duelists, Controllers, Initiators, and Sentinels. I wanted to see if there were any clear winners within each category. I spent a few days just focusing on Duelists, trying to see who could really frag out and carry games. Then, I switched to Controllers, experimenting with different smokes and how to lock down sites. Same thing with Initiators and Sentinels. I was switching roles all the time.
Focusing on S-Tier and A-Tier Agents
After all that experimenting, I started to see some patterns. Some agents just felt way stronger than others. I made a simple tier list, you know, S-tier, A-tier, B-tier, and so on. I put the agents that felt the most impactful in the S and A tiers. I pretty much ignored everyone else after that and just focused on playing these top-tier agents.
My Personal Top Picks
Now, after all this, I’ve got my personal favorites that I think are really strong in 2024. Like, for Controllers, I’m really feeling Clove. Their smokes are just so good, and they can be super aggressive, which I love. For Initiators, Gekko is a beast. I played a few games with him, the information he provides is insane. Then you’ve got your classic Duelist like Neon, who’s still super strong. And for Sentinels, Cypher’s cages are still amazing for locking down areas. I really played a lot with them, they are so good.
- Clove (Controller): These guys are great.
- Gekko (Initiator): His info gathering is top-notch.
- Neon (Duelist): Classic, but still really powerful.
- Cypher (Sentinel): Those cages are just too good.
So yeah, that’s basically what I’ve been up to in Valorant. It was a lot of games, a lot of notes, and a lot of switching agents. But I feel like I have a much better grasp of the meta now. Of course, this is just my personal experience. What works for me might not work for you. The best agent is always the one you enjoy playing the most, right? But if you’re looking for some recommendations, definitely give Clove, Gekko, Neon, and Cypher a try. You might be surprised! And hey, let me know what you guys think. Who are your favorite agents right now?
At last, I finished my experiment, and I felt so good that I can share these with you guys. I want you all to be better!
