Okay, so, I’ve been on this Pokemon Go kick lately. It’s been a fun way to get some exercise and, you know, catch ’em all. I’d set my sights on getting a Goodra. I think it is a pretty cool-looking dragon-type Pokemon. I’d already caught a Goomy a while back, but getting it to evolve into Goodra? That was a whole other thing.
First off, I had to get that Goomy to evolve into Sliggoo. Luckily, I had a few Goomy before, one of which had better IVs. So I transferred the rest to get some candies, and powered up the good one to level 40. I used the appraise function in-game to tell its IV, but sometimes I also used some online IV calculators to double-check the IVs. Finally, I got enough candies to evolve it. Once I evolved it, I got a Sliggoo.
Then came the real challenge – getting Sliggoo to evolve into Goodra. This is where things got a bit tricky. Apparently, Sliggoo only evolves into Goodra when it’s raining in the game. And you also need it to be at least level 50. I mean, seriously? Waiting for rain in a game? It felt a little silly, but hey, I was committed.
So, I started checking the weather in the game every day. I’d log in, see if it was raining, and if not, I’d go about my usual Pokemon Go routine. I even tried doing that “rain dance” thing, but no luck. I just focused on battling, catching other Pokemon, and earning XP. Every time I leveled up my Sliggoo, I got excited, hoping the next level would be the one. Eventually, after a few days of playing, I hit level 50 with my Sliggoo. That was half the battle won.
Finally, after what felt like forever, I logged in one day, and boom – it was raining! My heart started racing. I quickly opened up my Pokemon list, found my level 50 Sliggoo, and with bated breath, I hit that evolve button.
And there it was! My very own Goodra. It honestly felt pretty rewarding after all that waiting and leveling up. It wasn’t just about getting a new Pokemon, it was about the whole process, the anticipation, and finally achieving that little goal.
If you’re also trying to get a Goodra, here’s what I learned from my little adventure:
- Be Patient: The rain thing can be a pain, but it will eventually happen. Just keep checking the game’s weather.
- Level Up: Focus on getting your Sliggoo to level 50 or higher. Battles, raids, catching Pokemon – every bit of XP counts. I did some research and it said that if you got lucky eggs, you can get a lot of XP quickly by evolving a lot of Pokemon. I was lucky and got a lot of spare Pokemon to evolve, so I got a lot of XP quickly.
- Enjoy the Journey: It’s easy to get fixated on the end goal, but try to enjoy the process of playing the game, exploring, and catching other Pokemon along the way.
So yeah, that’s my Goodra story. It might seem like a lot of work for a virtual dragon, but for me, it was a fun little challenge. And hey, now I have a pretty awesome Goodra to show for it!
