So, I’ve been messing around with this “Rocket League” trading thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s a bit of a wild ride. I wanted to get some cool items for my car, you know, make it look all snazzy. First thing I did was jump online and try to figure out how this whole trading business works.
I stumbled upon this fan-made website, It’s not official or anything, but everyone seems to use it for trading. I made an account there, and that’s where I started to get a feel for what my items were worth. When you go to post a trade, they show you all the items and their supposed values on the site. It’s kinda handy, but it’s not like these are set-in-stone prices or anything.

Then I started looking into how to actually trade. It turns out, they changed things up recently. I heard they removed in-game trading to get more young players involved, which I guess makes sense from a business point of view. Anyway, now you gotta use this other website. Some items are tied to other games too, and you can only trade those up if you have duplicates. And if you have certified items, those are considered separate, even if they’re the same item.
- Find the right items: First, I had to figure out what items I wanted and what I was willing to trade for them.
- Check the prices: Then, I spent some time checking out the prices on that fan website to get a rough idea of the market.
- Post trades: I started posting some trades, offering up my items for stuff I wanted. It took a while to get the hang of it.
- Negotiate: A lot of back and forth with other players, trying to agree on a fair trade. Some people try to lowball you, it’s all part of the game.
- Complete the trade: Finally, once we agree, we’d hop into the game and make the trade.
What I’ve Learned
It’s a bit of a grind, to be honest. Some folks are just in it to make a profit, trying to squeeze every last bit of value out of each trade. And then there are these “hoarders” who just collect items, I guess they like to have a big collection. If an item is time-limited, there will be a little timer on the top right corner of its icon in your inventory. Pretty useful I would say.
At the end of the day, I did manage to snag some pretty cool gear for my car. It took some time and effort, but it was kinda fun in a way. Just be prepared to haggle and don’t expect to get rich quick or anything. It’s more about getting the items you want and having a good time doing it.
