Man, keeping track of when the competitive season ends in Valorant can be a real pain. I always find myself scrambling at the last minute to hit my desired rank. So, this time, I decided to get ahead of the game and figure it out properly. I wanted to share my little investigation process cause maybe it’ll help some of you out there too.
First, I launched the Valorant game on my PC. I’m not a pro player or anything, I just wanted to check some basic things in the game, you know. So after I logged in, I clicked on the “Career” tab. There, under the “Act Rank” section, it shows the current Act’s end date.

But I’m kind of a forgetful person, and I knew I’d lose track of that date. I thought, “There’s gotta be a better way!” So I went online to some gaming forums, read some articles. It looked like people were saying that the best way was to actually look at the in-game counter. Fair enough. Also, I found some folks mentioning that the current act, Episode 8 Act 3, is supposed to end on June 24, 2024, at 11 pm PDT. That’s good to know, but time zones always confuse me. I had to find a converter online to figure out what that meant for my local time.
Next, I figured I should try to find out when the next act, you know, Episode 9, would start. I dug around a bit more and saw that people were estimating it to end sometime around January 7, 2025. But that seemed like a guess, not an official date. Some also mentioned that the new act called Episode 10 Act 1 would probably begin on January 8, 2025. That’s a bit weird. If Episode 9 is ending on January 7 and Episode 10 is starting on January 8, then that means Episode 9 is also ending on January 7? I wasn’t sure, so I decided to wait for Riot Games, the Valorant developers, to announce the official dates closer to the end of the current act. Better safe than sorry, right?
I also stumbled upon some comments saying that the competitive queue doesn’t really “end,” but it just resets at the start of a new act. And apparently, that happens every couple of months. One guy said, “Just play and don’t stress the end date.” That’s probably good advice. I shouldn’t freak out too much about it, but I still wanted to know the dates, just in case.
Then there was something about the battle pass. I read that the new one for Episode 9 Act 2 is supposed to drop sometime between August 27 and August 29, 2024. The exact time depends on your server location and time zone. That’s not really related to the competitive season ending, but it’s still good to keep in mind. Plus, they said something about maintenance for console players on August 27, so I guess PC players like me won’t have to worry about that.
So, here’s what I’ve got so far:
- Episode 8 Act 3 End: June 24, 2024, 11 pm PDT (gotta convert that to my time zone)
- Episode 9 Act 3 End: Around January 7, 2025 (unofficial, just a guess)
- Episode 10 Act 1 Start: January 8, 2025 (also not confirmed by Riot)
- Episode 9 Act 2 Battle Pass: August 27-29, 2024 (depending on time zone)
Honestly, it’s a bit all over the place. I guess the best thing to do is to keep an eye on the in-game counter and wait for the official announcements from Riot. I also wrote down these dates on a sticky note and stuck it on my monitor. It’s not the most high-tech solution, but it works for me! Hopefully, this little adventure of mine will help some of you out there to keep track of the Valorant competitive seasons too.
