Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this exotic helmet in Destiny 2 called “The Stag,” and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I heard it was good for Warlocks, especially those squishy Stormcallers, so I figured, why not give it a shot?
First off, I had to get my hands on this thing. It wasn’t too hard, just some regular grinding, you know how it is. Once I got it, I started experimenting. I slapped it on my Warlock and jumped right into some action.

The main thing about The Stag is that it’s all about Rifts. You know, those little circles of light Warlocks can make that either heal you or boost your damage? Yeah, those. This helmet gives you damage reduction when you’re standing in a Rift with your buddies, which is pretty sweet.
I started with some casual play, just running around, throwing down Rifts, and seeing what happened. I noticed I was surviving a lot longer, especially in those “oh crap” moments when you’re surrounded by enemies. And when I was critically wounded? Bam! I got Rift energy, which meant I could pop another Rift almost immediately. Super useful.
Then, I got a bit more serious. I paired it with a Healing Rift. Every time I used it, I felt almost invincible. I also messed around with my mods, putting double Utility Kickstart on my bond. This helped me get my Rift back even faster. And let me tell you, having that healing circle always ready was a game changer.
I even tried out the “Child of the Old Gods” aspect, which sends out this little void buddy that weakens enemies. Throwing down a Rift, getting that weakening effect, AND having damage resistance? It felt amazing. The enemies just melted. Maxing out my Resilience stat was the cherry on top. I felt like a walking tank.
I heard some people talking about using it in endgame stuff, like Grandmaster Nightfalls. So, naturally, I had to try it. I grabbed a couple of buddies, we all loaded up our Arc subclasses, and we dove in. It was intense, but The Stag really pulled its weight. I was able to keep my team alive, and we cleared those GMs like a hot knife through butter.
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:
- Got The Stag helmet.
- Equipped it on my Warlock.
- Focused on using Rifts, especially Healing Rift.
- Used mods like Utility Kickstart to get Rifts back quickly.
- Maxed out Resilience for extra survivability.
- Experimented with the Child of the Old Gods aspect.
- Tried it out in Grandmaster Nightfalls.
My Verdict
This helmet is not a joke. It’s seriously good. If you’re a Warlock main and you like using Rifts, you gotta try The Stag. It’ll make you feel way tougher, and your fireteam will thank you for it. Just don’t expect to know everything about Destiny 2 right away if you’re new. There is a huge learning curve, but the New Light quest is a great starting place. Once you get the hang of it, it’s a blast! Trust me, it’s worth the grind.
