Man, the end of the season for League of Legends always gets me. It’s like this huge rush to climb the ladder before it all resets. This year, I started off pretty chill, playing casually and ended up in Silver. Then, I got that itch. You know, that feeling where you want to see how far you can push yourself?
So, I decided to see if I could hit Gold. I picked my two best champs, Wukong and Nunu, because I had pretty good win rates with them. I focused on getting better with them, watching some high-level players, and really trying to understand their strategies. I also realized that I needed to get more involved in games and stop being passive.

Then I started the grind. At first, it was actually kind of fun. I was winning a lot, climbing up the ranks, and feeling good. I started to believe I could reach gold without a hitch. But man, it gets tiring after a while. The constant pressure to perform, the occasional toxic teammates, the losing streaks… it all starts to weigh on you. I was stuck in the Silver rank for a long time. I would win some and lose more, and I was about to give up on hitting Gold.
But I pushed through. I took breaks when I needed them, tried not to get tilted, and kept reminding myself why I started this whole thing. I didn’t just want to reach a certain rank; I wanted to see if I had the discipline to stick to a goal, even when it got tough. Then I started to take more risk in my games and became more aggressive.
Slowly but surely, I started seeing progress. I finally broke into Gold, and the feeling was amazing. It was even more satisfying than I thought it would be. After reaching Gold, I set my sights on Platinum. I knew it would be very difficult, but I wanted to see how far I could go. I learned a lot about the game, about myself, and about what it really takes to climb the ranks in this game.
And guess what? I hit Platinum! I know some people think it’s no big deal, but for me, it was a huge accomplishment. I realized that climbing in ranked is not just about skill; it’s also about mentality, perseverance, and a willingness to learn and adapt. I was surprised by my own perseverance, and I never thought I would make it this far. I was happy with my achievement and decided to take a break from ranked.
The season is ending soon, and I heard we’re getting rewards based on our peak rank. That’s pretty cool because I hit Platinum. I also heard that they are changing the ranked system next year to address the whole grind issue. Hopefully, it will make things a bit less stressful. All in all, it was a wild ride. I’m glad I did it, but I’m also glad it’s over. Time to chill and wait for the new season to start!
