Hey everyone, I’m back with another one of my little experiments. Today, we’re diving into something that’s been on my mind for a while – figuring out the best moveset for Lugia. Yeah, that big, majestic Psychic and Flying-type Pokémon that everyone loves. I got really into Pokémon Scarlet and Violet recently, and Lugia quickly became one of my favorites. So, I just had to dig deeper and find out what makes this beast tick in battles.
Getting Started
- First off, I spent hours reading through guides and forums. I wanted to see what the pros recommend for Lugia in competitive play. It’s a whole different world out there with Natures, EV spreads, and all that jazz. But honestly, it’s kinda fun once you get into it.
Experimenting with Moves
- I started testing different move combinations. At first, I focused on Extrasensory and Aeroblast, because I saw a lot of people saying that’s the go-to for Lugia. And yeah, they weren’t wrong – this combo hits hard. Aeroblast, being Lugia’s signature move, is just insane with its power and accuracy. Plus, it’s got that sweet critical hit ratio boost.
- Then, I tried swapping out Extrasensory for Future Sight. The idea was to have a strong Psychic-type move for offense. I found out it worked pretty well, especially since you can’t really use Lugia as a defender. So, making it a Psychic-type attacker seemed like the way to go.
Doubling Down on Double Battles
- Since Lugia is a beast in double battles, I decided to give that a shot too. I paired it with some of the other powerhouses. It was all about using moves that could take down the opponent’s team quickly. I even tried using Life Orb to boost its power. It was pretty cool seeing Lugia just sweep through teams.
Mixing in Some Strategy
- I also experimented with throwing in Calm Mind. I mean, Lugia’s SpA isn’t the best, so boosting it seemed like a smart move. Plus, it helps with that SpD, which Lugia is famous for. And for a bit of fun, I tried Whirlwind, just to mess with my opponents.
Final Thoughts
- After all this trial and error, I gotta say, Lugia is even more awesome than I thought. Whether you’re using it for its raw power with Aeroblast and Extrasensory or getting a bit more strategic with Calm Mind and Future Sight, it’s a force to be reckoned with. And let me tell you, dominating in double battles with Lugia is just pure satisfaction. It’s been a blast figuring all this out, and I hope my little adventure here helps some of you guys too. Catch you in the next one!
Well, it is my sharing for today. I hope it could help you. See you next time!
