Okay, so, today I wanted to see how much time I’ve actually spent playing League of Legends. You know, that game everybody’s been talking about? Yeah, that one. I’ve been hooked for a while, and I figured it was time to face the music.
First things first, I fired up the game. You know, clicked the icon on my desktop, the usual. Once it loaded, I went straight to my profile. There’s this little tab at the top, pretty easy to spot.
Then, I found this other tab called “Stats.” It’s the last one on the list. Clicked that, and boom, there it was, right there in the bottom left corner of the screen, all my playtime stats staring back at me.
But I also wanted to dig a bit deeper, you know? Like, get into the nitty-gritty. So, I did some digging around on my computer. Found the League of Legends folder. It was hiding in the Riot Games folder, which made sense.
- I opened up the “Logs” folder.
- And that’s where it stores all the game logs.
Now, I heard somewhere that it takes about 100 games to get to the Master rank, assuming you win, like, 70 and lose 30. If my math is right, that’s around 16 hours just to hit Master. That’s quite much, to be honest. I didn’t realize I have spent so much time on this.
For those who don’t know, League of Legends is this team-based game where you fight other players online. It’s made by Riot Games, and it came out way back in 2009. I just learned that it was announced in October 2008. It’s been around for a while!
So, Why Did I Do All This?
Well, curiosity, mainly. I wanted to know how much of my life I’ve dedicated to this game. Plus, it’s kinda fun to dig into the files and see how things work behind the scenes. If you’re into that sort of thing, give it a try! It’s a bit like exploring a secret world hidden inside your computer.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure for today. Figured I’d share it with you guys. Maybe it’ll inspire you to check out your own playtime. Just be prepared for a potential shock! It adds up quicker than you think. Seriously, it’s wild how much time you can sink into a game without even realizing it. I was shocked to discover that an average player had already spent 832 hours on League of Legends. Oh my god!
It turns out that there are various ways to check this data. I learned that 8,468,557 players have done this before me. I guess I’m not the only one curious about their playtime!
I found out that I can click on “Summoner Name” in the top-right corner and choose “Statistics” to see my playtime.
Well, that’s pretty much it. Time to get back to, uh, “researching” some more. You know, for science!
