Alright, dudes and dudettes, let me tell you about my wild ride with Lucioball 2024. I heard the hype, saw some crazy videos online, and I thought, “I gotta get in on this!” So, I fired up Overwatch 2, and bam, there it was, front and center. They are bringing back the old-school Lucioball, plus a new thing called Winston’s Beach Volleyball. Sounds fun, right?
First off, I jumped into a few regular Lucioball matches. Man, it was even more intense than I expected! I started by selecting Lucio, obviously. I was knocking that giant ball around, trying to get the hang of the controls again. It’s all about timing those boops and using the walls to your advantage. The first few games, I was all over the place, whiffing shots, getting scored on, you name it.

But I kept at it. I started to figure out some strategies, like aiming for the corners and using my speed boost to cut off opponents. I even managed to score a few goals, which felt awesome! There was this one game where I had an amazing comeback. We were down by two goals, but I rallied with my teammates, scored three goals in a row and won the game in overtime. It was epic!
After getting comfortable with regular Lucioball, I decided to try out the new Lucioball Remix. This is where things got really crazy. It’s like Lucioball on steroids! You have two balls in play at once, which makes for some seriously chaotic moments. I tried to be smart, to focus one one ball at a time. I tried to work with my team, but it was tough to keep track of everything. I spent a lot of time just trying not to get scored on. Let me tell you, it’s a whole different ball game. I definitely need more practice to get good at this mode, but it’s a blast to play.
Then I thought, let’s try that Winston’s Beach Volleyball thing. It is pretty fun. I chose Winston and started to use his abilities. I tried to make use of the ultimate and other abilities. It was not very easy to control the volleyball. After several games, I tried to designate a teammate as a goalie. After all, I did not get the point and decided to go back to the Lucioball.
Here’s a little breakdown of what I learned:
- Practice makes perfect: The more you play, the better you’ll get at controlling Lucio and predicting the ball’s movement.
- Use the walls: The walls are your friends! You can bounce the ball off them to make trick shots and surprise your opponents.
- Communicate with your team: Lucioball is a team sport, so make sure you’re talking to your teammates and coordinating your strategies.
- Have fun: At the end of the day, Lucioball is all about having a good time. Don’t get too stressed out if you’re not winning every game. Just enjoy the ride!
So yeah, that’s my Lucioball 2024 experience so far. It’s been a wild, fun, and sometimes frustrating journey, but I’m definitely hooked. I can’t wait to see what else Blizzard has in store for the Summer Games event, which I heard is dropping on July 9th. Until then, I’ll be here, practicing my boops and trying to master the art of Lucioball. Catch you on the field!
