Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my little projects. Today, I’m diving into the world of Pokemon Go, specifically trying to snag that elusive Icy Snow Scatterbug. If you’re into Pokemon Go, you know this little guy is a part of a whole set of different patterns you can collect, and it’s pretty cool once you get into it.
Getting Started
So, the first thing I did was try to figure out how the heck to even find a Scatterbug. Turns out, you can’t just stumble upon them in the wild like some other Pokemon. Nope, these guys are a bit more special.

The Postcard Hustle
- Collecting Postcards: It all starts with postcards. You need to pin postcards that friends send you from different regions. Every time you pin a postcard, it counts towards encountering a Scatterbug.
- Friendship is Key: I started adding a bunch of friends from all over the world. The more diverse the locations, the better. It’s a bit of a grind, but hey, that’s the game, right?
- Icy Snow Region: Now, for the Icy Snow pattern, you specifically need postcards from icy regions. This was the tricky part. I had to hunt down players specifically from those areas to become friends with them.
The Grind
I spent days, maybe even weeks, collecting and pinning postcards. It’s a bit of a waiting game because you’re relying on your friends to send you postcards. Some days I got a bunch, other days, not so much. It’s all about patience and keeping at it.
The Encounter
Finally, after what felt like forever, I pinned enough postcards from the Icy Snow region. And there it was – my first Scatterbug encounter! It was pretty exciting, not gonna lie. Catching it was the easy part. The real challenge was getting to that point.
Evolution
After catching the Scatterbug, the next step is evolving it. You need candies, just like any other Pokemon. Scatterbug evolves into Spewpa and then into Vivillon, and the pattern it ends up with depends on where the Scatterbug was from. My Icy Snow Scatterbug turned into a beautiful Icy Snow Vivillon. Mission accomplished!
Weaknesses and Counters
By the way, if you’re battling, Icy Snow Scatterbug is weak against Flying, Rock, and Fire moves. I found out that using Pokemon like Reshiram works wonders against it. Just a little tip if you’re into the battling side of things.
Final Thoughts
So, that’s my journey to getting the Icy Snow Scatterbug in Pokemon Go. It’s a bit of a process, but it’s a fun challenge. Plus, it’s a cool way to connect with players from around the world. If you’re trying to collect all the Vivillon patterns, I hope my experience helps you out. Keep at it, and happy hunting!
