Man, December in Animal Crossing, right? I’ve been diving deep into the ocean this month, trying to snag all those cool sea creatures. It’s been quite a ride, let me tell you.
First off, I made sure my wetsuit was ready to go. Gotta have the right gear for the job. Then I just started swimming around my island, keeping an eye out for those little shadows in the water. You know the ones I mean? They move around a bit different than the fish.

Diving In
When I spotted one, I’d dive down with a press of the “Y” button. The trick is to swim slowly, kinda creep up on those critters, then grab them! Some of them are really fast, I swear. I’ve had to chase a few all over the place. It’s like an underwater game of tag.
Here’s a little list of what I’ve managed to catch so far this month:
- Seaweed: This one’s easy, it just kinda sits there.
- Sea Grapes: Same as seaweed, it is just floating.
- Sea Star: These guys are a bit quicker, but still pretty chill.
- Sea Urchin: These are like the sea star, they are slow.
- Slate Pencil Urchin: Don’t let the name fool you, they move just like a regular urchin.
- Sea Anemone: These just kinda sit there, waving in the current.
- Moon Jellyfish: These are really pretty and not too hard to catch.
- Spotted Garden Eel: These are a little faster, they like to hide in the sand.
- Chambered Nautilus: This one looks so cool, it has a shell.
- Octopus: These are tricky, they can change direction real quick.
- Umbrella Octopus: I love the way this one looks, it’s like a tiny umbrella.
- Firefly Squid: It’s small but surprisingly fast, it took me a while to catch one.
- Gazami Crab: This one is pretty fast, you gotta be quick to grab it.
- Snow Crab: Bigger than the Gazami Crab, but it is not that fast.
- Red King Crab: This one’s a monster, but it is a bit slow.
- Sea Pig: I finally caught one of these. They’re kinda weird looking.
- Sea Cucumber: They are slow and easy to catch.
- Giant Isopod: It’s big and pretty fast, it took me a few tries.
- Venus’ Flower Basket: These are pretty, they are not that common though.
- Sweet Shrimp: They are small and fast, but not too hard to catch.
- Tiger Prawn: This one is bigger than the sweet shrimp, but slower.
- Lobster: These are pretty fast, but you can corner them sometimes.
- Turban Shell: These are just sitting there, so they are easy to catch.
I’ve been donating most of my catches to Blathers at the museum. He always has some interesting fact to share. Plus, it’s cool to see the aquarium fill up. I also sell some of my extra creatures at Nook’s Cranny to get some bells. Gotta pay off that home loan, you know?
It’s been a fun month of diving, and I’m still hoping to catch them all before the month is out. I heard there’s a total of 23 different sea creatures you can find in December in the Northern Hemisphere, and I’m determined to get them all. Wish me luck!
