Alright, so I’ve been getting a lot of questions about where to find Weedle in Pokemon GO. I figured I’d share my experience on this, so here’s how I went about it.
First off, I started hitting up all the green spots near me. You know, parks, forests, those kinds of places. I figured Weedle, being a Bug-type, would probably hang out in nature. So I made sure my phone’s GPS was on and just started walking around these areas. It felt like I was on a real-life bug hunt!

I also tried to keep up with Pokemon GO events. I’ve noticed that these events often feature certain types of Pokemon, and I was hoping Weedle would be one of them. It’s a bit hit-or-miss, but it’s worth a shot, right?
Then, I remembered something about Route 2, Route 24, 25, and Viridian Forest from the older Pokemon games. I don’t know why, but I thought maybe these locations had some significance in Pokemon GO too. I couldn’t physically go to these places, obviously, but I paid a bit more attention when I was in areas that felt “forest-like.” It might be totally in my head, but hey, it’s part of the fun, right?
Another thing I tried was battling those Team Rocket Grunts. I heard that the male ones who talk about “super bug Pokemon” might have Shadow Weedle. It’s not a sure thing, and sometimes they give you their second Pokemon instead, but I was determined. I battled a bunch of them, and it was kind of a grind, not gonna lie.
One tool I found super useful was the Nearby screen in the game. It shows you what Pokemon are in your vicinity, and I used it all the time. I’d be walking around, constantly checking it, hoping to see Weedle pop up. It’s like a little radar for Pokemon hunting. I also heard about some things called “Nests” and “Habitats” where Weedle supposedly spawns more often, but I haven’t really figured that out yet.
Anyways after spending my whole time on it, I finally managed to find my Weedle! It was just chilling in a park near my house. I was so excited, I almost dropped my phone! Now I’m trying to level it up and evolve it. It’s been a fun little project, and I hope this helps some of you out there who are also on the Weedle hunt. Good luck!
- Go to parks, forests, or any green areas
- Participate in Pokemon GO events
- Pay attention to “forest-like” areas
- Battle male Team Rocket Grunts who mention “super bug Pokemon”
- Use the Nearby screen in the game
Additional Tips
From what I’ve gathered, Weedle can get up to 515 CP at level 50. That’s pretty cool! Also, it’s strong against Grass and Psychic types, which is good to know for battles. I’m still learning more about this little guy, but it’s been a blast so far. Happy hunting, everyone!
