Okay, let’s talk about defense in Madden 24.
I started messing around with different playbooks to see what worked best. You know, trying to find that sweet spot where you can shut down the other team but still have some fun. At first, I was lost. I mean, there are so many options, right? It is easy to get overwhelmed.

Experiment
I spent hours, just grinding, trying out different formations and plays. I took notes on everything like a madman. What worked against the run, what worked against the pass, what completely fell apart.
-
46 Defense:
First up, I tried the 46 Defense. It’s a classic for a reason. You got those big guys up front, really clogging up the middle. This one is great if you know the other team is going to try to run the ball down your throat. I stopped so many running plays dead in their tracks. It felt great! It is awesome for shutting down the run.

4-3 Defense:
I also messed with the 4-3 Defense. A bit different, but I wanted to see if I could get more pressure on the quarterback without sacrificing too much against the run. When I’m playing a good running back, or am in a short yardage situation, I bring an 8th man into the box using triangle+show blitz. It worked okay, but I still felt more comfortable with the 46 for stopping the run. This setup puts seven guys in the box, which is pretty solid.

Kansas City Chiefs:
Then I experimented with the Kansas City Chiefs‘ playbook. Their defense is all about not giving up the big play. They’re willing to give up short gains on running plays rather than get beaten deep in the secondary. This playbook reflects that, giving you sound nickel and zone coverage that makes it difficult for opponents who just want to throw, throw. I really liked their nickel and zone coverage stuff. It felt safer when I was worried about getting beat deep. This playbook is for those who like to play it safe and avoid giving up huge plays.
Conclusion
After all that testing, I realized that the 46 Defense is still my go-to. It is solid, reliable, and I just feel more confident using it. But, hey, that’s just me. Maybe you will have more fun with the Chiefs’ zone stuff or find a different playbook altogether. The best way is to get into the game, try things out, and see what works best for you.
So go out there, experiment, and find your perfect defensive playbook. Don’t be afraid to mix things up and have fun with it. After all, that’s what Madden is all about. Happy gaming!
