Alright, let’s talk about Bluestone Shards in Dark and Darker. I’ve been grinding away at this game, and I gotta say, getting these shards is a bit of a journey. So, here’s how it went down for me.
First off, I started poking around, trying to figure out where the heck these things even come from. I heard a bunch of different things, like, “Oh, you can just buy ’em,” or, “You gotta mine for them.” Well, turns out, neither of those were quite right.

I dug into the game’s shop, specifically the Cosmetics section. People said that’s where you could get them, but nope, not for buying. It’s where you use them, though. So that was a dead end, but at least I knew where to spend ’em once I got ’em.
Then I heard about this “extracting” thing. Basically, you gotta survive and escape the dungeon. I figured, alright, I’m doing that anyway, might as well see what happens. So I geared up, jumped into some dungeons, and started playing.
Here is the main part.
- Dungeon Diving: I played it safe at first, sticking to the level 1 dungeons. Killed some mobs, grabbed some loot, and tried to get out alive. Did this a few times, no shards.
- Upping the Ante: Then I thought, maybe it’s like those other games where the good stuff only drops in the harder areas. So, I braved the level 2 dungeons. These were tougher, no doubt, but still nothing.
- Finally, some luck! I kept at it, extracting successfully from the level 2 dungeons. And bam! After a good while, I finally got my first Bluestone Shard. It was a bit of a grind, but it felt pretty good to see that thing pop up.
- Keep Grinding: So that’s the gist. You gotta extract from level 2 dungeons, and it’s not every time. Just gotta keep playing, surviving, and hoping for the best. I’m still collecting them, aiming to get enough for some of those sweet cosmetics.
I also heard that these shards carry over between seasons, which is pretty cool. Means all this effort isn’t just gonna vanish when the season ends. But the Triumph level or whatever, that does reset. So, that’s something to keep in mind, I guess.
Someone mentioned it takes like a hundred hours to get just a few shards if you’re always in level 2 dungeons. Sounds about right from my experience, maybe even more. It’s definitely a long game thing.
So yeah, that’s my Bluestone Shard story so far. It’s a grind, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right? Just gotta keep at it, and eventually, we’ll all be decked out in the coolest gear. Good luck out there, fellow adventurers!
