Alright, so I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter online about this “Radiant Charizard” card and whether it’s actually worth anything. I mean, it’s a shiny Charizard, so of course, people are going nuts for it. I decided to dive into this myself and see what the deal is.
First off, I started hitting up all the usual spots online where people buy and sell these cards. I browsed through forums, checked out some collector groups, and even stalked a few auctions. It’s crazy how much some folks are willing to pay for these things!

After a bit of digging, I realized there are a bunch of different versions of this Radiant Charizard. Some are from this Pokemon Go set from a couple of years back, and others are from newer sets like Crown Zenith. I tried to get my hands on a few different ones to compare.
Here’s what I did:
- Bought a couple of Radiant Charizards: I managed to snag one from the 2022 Pokemon Go set and another from a more recent release. I didn’t go for the super expensive graded ones, just regular ones in decent condition.
- Compared prices: I tracked how much these cards were selling for over a few weeks. I noticed the Pokemon Go one was generally more expensive, probably because it’s older and maybe a bit rarer.
- Checked the rarity: Apparently, these Radiant cards show up once in every 22 packs or so. That’s not super rare, but it’s not like you’re pulling one in every pack either.
- Talked to some collectors: I reached out to a few folks who seem to know their stuff. They mostly said the same things I was finding: condition matters a lot, older versions can be worth more, and it’s all about what people are willing to pay.
My conclusion?
Yeah, some of these Radiant Charizard cards can be worth a decent chunk of change, especially if they’re in mint condition or from an older, more sought-after set. I wouldn’t say they’re like a golden ticket to retirement, but I can see why people are excited about them. They’re cool-looking cards, and Charizard is a classic for a reason. For me, it was a fun little experiment, but I’m not about to quit my day job to become a full-time Pokemon card flipper just yet.
