Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with Madden 20 lately, trying to figure out the best playbook to use. It’s been a journey, let me tell you.
I started off just picking random playbooks, you know, seeing what felt good. I tried the Eagles’ playbook first, since I heard they’re pretty stacked in the game. And yeah, they got some solid players, like five guys rated 90 or above. But the playbook itself? It wasn’t really clicking for me.

Then, I saw some folks online saying Oakland’s playbook is the way to go. “It has everything,” they said. So, I gave it a shot. And you know what? They weren’t lying. Oakland’s playbook is a beast! It’s got a good mix of run and pass plays, some nice formations, it just felt right.
- Tried the Eagles first because I heard the team was good.
- Heard Oakland’s playbook was the best.
- Tried Oakland, and it was actually pretty good.
I also experimented a bit with the defensive side. I’m a big fan of the 3-4 defense, so I checked out the New York Giants (NYG) playbook. People online were saying it’s got some killer nickel blitzes and the Bear formation. I’m not sure I am using that perfectly, but I am trying to use that now.
Some other popular offensive playbooks I saw mentioned were New England and New Orleans. I tried those out, too. They were decent, had some good plays in there. But honestly, they didn’t feel as good as Oakland’s playbook for my playstyle.
My Conclusion
After all that testing, I’m sticking with Oakland’s playbook for offense. It just offers so much variety and keeps the opponent guessing. And for defense, I’m trying to see if I can really use that NYG playbook since I like 3-4.
It’s been a fun little experiment, and I’m sure I’ll keep tweaking things here and there. But for now, that’s my go-to setup in Madden 20. And hey, if you are also playing that game, you can try that out and see if that works for you too!
