Oh, let me tell ya ’bout this Hall of the Dead in “The Elder Scrolls Online” (ESO). It’s somethin’, I tell ya. Big ol’ dungeon, sits right in Windhelm, over in Eastmarch. Not a fancy place, but if you wanna get your hands dirty fightin’ bosses, well, this is the place for ya. They call it a public dungeon, meanin’ everyone can just waltz in, no big fancy lock or anythin’.
Now, first thing you gotta know, there’s a quest in here. Ain’t gonna hand you treasure just for lookin’ pretty. No, you gotta work for it. There’s six bosses in total, and lemme tell ya, findin’ ’em all ain’t as easy as pickin’ apples. You got this Old Priest fella—he’s tricky. Folks keep wonderin’ where the heck he spawns. Might take ya a while to spot ‘im.

But it ain’t just the bosses you’re after, no sir. There’s a Skyshard hidden somewhere too. Now, I know you’re thinkin’, “What’s a Skyshard?” Well, collect enough of ’em, and you’ll feel like you’re ten years younger, stronger and all that. They’re shiny little things, spread all across Tamriel. This one’s somewhere in the Hall, but ya gotta keep your eyes peeled or you might miss it.
Let’s not forget about the group event. Now, that’s where the real action happens. It’s in a big ol’ room on the east side of the dungeon. You ain’t gonna miss it. I’ve heard it can get real crowded there sometimes, lots of folks comin’ in to get their hands on some good loot. That’s where you and your friends can really make a mess of things, smashin’ enemies left and right.
And what about the loot? Well, you get some Provisioning materials. Fancy word, ain’t it? Basically, it’s just stuff you can use to cook up somethin’ or make somethin’ useful. Handy if you know what to do with it. I ain’t no fancy cook, but the stuff’s valuable if you’re into that sorta thing.
How to Find the Bosses
- First off, some of ’em are out in the open. Easy pickins’, you might say. But others, well, they like to hide a bit. Like that Old Priest fella, he’s tricky to find.
- One of ’em is nestled near Morvunskar’s royal tomb. That’s over west of the Fort Morvunskar Wayshrine. Can’t miss it if you’re lookin’.
- Then there’s some giants messin’ with the village below. Head southeast of the Windhelm Wayshrine for that one.
Now, I know ya might be wonderin’ if this place is worth all the trouble. Well, lemme tell ya, it sure is. Not only do ya get to fight some big ol’ bosses, but ya can earn achievements too. And everyone loves a good achievement, makes ya feel like you done somethin’ right.
So, if you’re lookin’ to stretch your legs a bit, get in some fightin’, and maybe find a Skyshard or two, head on over to the Hall of the Dead in Windhelm. Just watch out for the Old Priest—he’s a slippery one. But if ya find ‘im, well, you’ll be walkin’ outta there with your head held high.
Important Things to Remember
- Six bosses in total, so don’t go thinkin’ you can just knock down one and be done with it.
- There’s a Skyshard in there, so keep your eyes open!
- The group event is a big deal. Bring some friends if you can; it makes things easier.
- Provisionin’ materials are scattered about, so grab ’em if you want.
All in all, the Hall of the Dead might be a spooky ol’ place, but for those adventurin’ types like yerself, it’s got plenty of action. Just bring a sturdy weapon, a few friends, and be ready to do a bit of huntin’. Good luck out there!
