Alright, folks, let’s talk about this cool bird, Honchkrow, I’ve been messing around with in my game. First off, I gotta say, getting this guy was a bit of a journey. I started with a Murkrow, which is like the pre-evolution of Honchkrow, and let me tell you, finding a Dusk Stone to evolve it wasn’t a walk in the park. But once I did, boom! Honchkrow was in my party, and it was totally worth it.
Now, I experimented with a bunch of moves, trying to figure out what works best. This bird’s got some serious potential, both for hitting hard and for being a bit sneaky with support moves. I played around with both physical and special attacks, since Honchkrow’s pretty good at both. And those immunities to Ground and Psychic? Super handy, trust me. I also tried out Super Luck and Insomnia, which were both pretty cool abilities that help in different situations.

Here is the part that I want to share:
- Snarl: I started using this move because it’s a Dark-type move, and it lowers the opponent’s Special Attack. Pretty neat for messing with those special attackers.
- Sky Attack: Now, this one’s a Flying-type move, and it hits like a truck. It takes a turn to charge, but when it hits, it hits hard.
I tested these moves out in a bunch of battles. In some, I went all-in on offense. In others, I used moves like Substitute and Thunder Wave to play a bit more defensively, which worked out surprisingly well with my Honchkrow.
My Discovery
I found out that Honchkrow is weak to Electric, Fairy, Ice, and Rock-type moves. So, I had to be careful when facing those types. But the good thing is, it takes less damage from Dark, Ghost, Grass, and Ground-type moves, which was a lifesaver in many battles.
After a lot of trial and error, I realized that the combination of Snarl and Sky Attack was the sweet spot. I saw that some folks online were saying it has the best damage per second, and I totally get why. When these moves were boosted by Fog and Windy weather, it was game over for the other team.
I even tried it out in some double battles, just for kicks. Turns out, Honchkrow’s pretty good in those too. I saw some guides online for competitive play, like the VGC, and it got me thinking about trying that out someday.
So, that’s my story with Honchkrow. It’s been a fun ride figuring out how to use this Pokmon. It is not all about the damage, but how you use it. If any of you have your own Honchkrow stories or tips, I’d love to hear them!
